Rudloe Plant

At the church meeting on the 13th October, the proposal – that with God’s enabling, we seek to establish a gospel-centred church in Rudloe – was unanimously agreed! We give thanks to God for his guidance and leading during this process and would ask that everyone continues to pray for this pioneering venture.

Church Meeting

At the church meeting the following people were welcomed into membership of Corsham Baptist Church: Lucy James and Julie Feltham. The following positions of responsibility were also agreed: Julie King – human resources adviser; Louise du Toit – in charge of the building. In addition, due to pressures of family and work, Stuart Little has stepped down from his role as elder; Gill Bryant has given notice that her role as Missions Deacon will come to an end in January 2015.

The Light Party

This is our annual outreach – as an alternative to halloween – for children aged 5-11 years in our church and the community. It will be held on Friday 31st October at the church from 6-8pm. We will need help in various areas. If you would like to serve in this way, please sign up on the sheet at the back. Registration forms are also available for your child/ren. Please complete and return to Ginny or the church office.

Ladies’ Bible Study

The next ladies’ bible study will be held on Monday 20th October at 7.30pm. All ladies are welcome to attend. If you would like more information, speak to Anne or Kathy.

Midweek Service

The next midweek service will be held here on Wednesday at 2pm. The text is Luke 8.16-21 and Eric will be leading and preaching.

The Ark

There will be another “Ark” taking place on Saturday 25th October at 10am at CBC. Please speak to Rachel or Natalie if you would like to know more about this monthly event.

Prayer Meeting – New congregation

We are continuing with our regular prayer meetings for both the new congregation and the work of our existing congregation at Priory Street. The meetings take place in The Hut from 8.30-9.30am on Saturday mornings. Everyone welcome!

Pastoral help needed

Sara has worked hard co-ordinating meals for new families for some time now  and we do thank her for all her valuable work in this ministry.  Is there someone who is willing to take on this responsibility from January 2015 and/or would you be prepared to be on the list of cooks?  Please contact Joan if you could help with the co-ordinating or with the cooking. Thank you.

Questions and Cake!

Vicky S is organising some dates when housegroups will get together over “questions and cake”. The dates are:

Tuesday 18th November

Thursday 4th December

Wednesday 14th January

7.45pm start and 9.15pm finish

Please speak to Vicky for more details.

Youth Weekend Away

Next weekend, Dan and a group of 30 young people and leaders will be going to Woodcroft Christian Centre, near Chepstow, for their weekend away.  However, in order to make this youth trip possible we need your help!   Here are two ways in which you can help support: 1) Drivers: we need individuals willing to drive young people to and/or from the Christian Centre on Friday afternoon (24th Oct) / Sunday afternoon (26th Oct). 2) Prayer! That God would bless our time away, that the young people will grow in friendships with one another and ultimately with God! If you can assist, please let Dan know. Thanks.

Parking along Priory Street

Once again we are experiencing problems with people parking on Priory Street on a Sunday morning and upsetting our neighbours. May we kindly request that you park in one of the town carparks or other streets in the surrounding area but not along Priory Street.

New Cooker

To all those who are wondering why the cooker has not been installed yet, we are waiting for E-ON to upgrade our gas meter. This is necessary because of the larger boiler and cooker gas requirement than we had before.
