Gift Day – Tanzania Mission Trip, 5th June

On Sunday 5th June we will be having a gift day when all offerings via the offering bags will be used to support the building project at Sanga Sanga in Tanzania. The team is going to Tanzania from 21st June to 3rd July.

If you wish to gift-aid your donation, please put it in a gift-aid envelope and write “TANZANIA” as the purpose of the donation. Late offerings towards this project will also be accepted until Sunday 12th June if they are in an envelope marked “TANZANIA”.

Tuesday Lunch Club

The next one will be held on Tuesday 10th May at 12 o’clock. This event is for our seniors and if you would like further information, please chat to Michael or Wendy Prior. Thank you.

Organising Communion

Is anyone willing to take over organising communion for the 9:15am service? If so, please have a chat to Roz or Joe Shillaker.

Mean Bean Challenge

A huge thank you to everyone who has generously supported and encouraged us through prayer and finances as we (that is Joy Wingrave, Dan & Natalie Ovens, Abi Grylls, Bex Larkman and Joe Saunders) undertook the challenge of going five days (Yes, five whole days!) on a meagre amount of beans and rice and only water to drink. We all found it quite hard at times and energy reserves were sometimes low, but we’ve all come away (a) far more appreciative of the daily blessings we have, as we are able to experience such a variety of foods where we live, (b) we’ve also deepened our understanding of the hardships that so many have to go through with barely enough food to survive, and only very bland food available. The grand total we have raised so far (including gift aid that Tearfund will be able to reclaim additionally to gifts given) = £1,226.25!! Thank You. Every pound will be able to make a real difference to individuals that Tearfund local partners are involved in helping. Now that the challenge is finished, if you pledged to give the team a gift through the sponsor form, then please see Dan to pass over monies. Thanks.

Big Church Day Out or New Wine for free?

If you are interested in being part of either of these events, then we are looking for lots of volunteers to help in a café at BCDO (late May) and NW1 (late July) and NW2 (early August).  This is just serving cake & coffee, no baking involved! You get a free ticket, three meals a day, training and uniform.  For details, please contact Susan Wingrave.

Weston Super Mare, Sunday 17th July 2016

We intend to have a coach trip to Weston Super Mare on Sunday 17th July leaving Corsham at 10:30 and returning at about 18:30. Costs will be dependent upon numbers going but expect around £5 per seat. The intention will be to find a spot on the beach as a base for the day where we will hold a short time of worship together.  There will be opportunity to relax, catch up with old friends from the other congregations, play some games and have a wander around the seafront and, if you like, visit the pier.  You will need to bring a picnic lunch.   Any questions please speak to Stuart or Lynne Little. Please note there will be a service at Priory Street on that morning for those who do not wish to go on this trip. It will be at 11:15am and led by Eric Seager.

Mission & the Persecuted Church Prayer Meetings

The next meeting will be on Monday 23rd May. All are welcome.

The meeting in June will be on Monday 6th and we will focus on praying for the Muslim World as this is the beginning of ‘Pray for the Muslim World’ month. Gill Bryant will be leading this. If you would like a prayer book to use during this month, please see Gill.

Corsham Money & Debt Advice Centre

The ministry is flourishing and we are receiving many new clients. We currently only have four debt advisors so we are anxious to recruit more so that we can continue to serve the local community. If you feel that this is a role you could do, we would love to hear from you! For more information and to discuss what we do, please talk to Alan Christie, Alan Simon, Dave New or Roger Hammett.
