Gathered to Praise – Sun 17th at 6pm

Join us at Priory Street as we gather to celebrate Easter Sunday, to rejoice that Jesus rose again and praise Him for the new life we can have through Him.

Thank you…

Rob and Sharon Durant would like to thank the whole church community here at CBC for all your love and support, especially in these last few weeks. We are humbled and thrilled to receive this calling for Rob to serve you as Senior Pastor, and to continue growing in Christ as family together!

Discipleship Explored course at Priory Street, starting 24th April, 6pm

How can we continue to grow as genuine disciples?  We need our hearts to be captivated and enthralled by the surpassing love of Christ. Discipleship Explored is a beautiful 8 session film series, with Christian testimony and insight from believers around the world on five continents, and rooted in Paul’s letter to the Philippians. It’s sure to be a blessing to you in your walk with Christ no matter how long you’ve been following Him or how far you’ve got in your walk (or even if you’ve done Discipleship Explored before!). Watch a sneak peak of the course here: https://video.twimg.com/ext_tw_video/1346114482033078273/pu/vid/1280×720/uXssVB7Zts17eoj3.mp4?tag=10

Gifts to mission partners

Our friends at Tearfund wrote to us recently to thank us for the gift we sent to them. They write, “Your giving is helping bring hope to people like Gloria in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). She and her eight children had to flee their village to escape the fighting which caused the deaths of many members of her family – including her husband. Gloria used to provide for her family by farming. Thanks to the kindness of churches like yours, she has received tools and seeds from our local partner to start farming again. ‘I am able to produce enough for my family to eat and we can sell some of it so I can afford to buy clothes.’ Gloria prays, ‘May God bless those who assist us from near and far and may they continue to pray for peace in the DRC.’”

Ladies Day – 23rd April – have you registered yet?

We love to get together as women at CBC and this year we will enjoy an ‘away day’ together in the village hall at Castle Combe.  All four of our congregations are invited to join together to enjoy this special day.  ‘He Will Hold Me Fast’ is the theme of the day and we will be feasting on God’s word as Sharon speaks from the book of Daniel. There will be special times of worship and prayer together too. Lunch and refreshments will be provided and a delicious cream tea to finish off the afternoon (if you have any dietary requirements, please let Anne H know in advance). In the afternoon we have the opportunity to explore the stunning village of Castle Combe.

Parking is available in the main village car park and there is some disabled parking at the village hall. We ask for a small contribution of £5 per head to cover the costs of the day. Any questions, we would love to hear from you – contact Anne H, Vicki K or Christine C.  You can book your tickets by clicking on the link here.

Volunteer needed – 11.15 service

We are looking for someone to take responsibility for setting up and clearing away the communion table at the 11.15 service, on the second Sunday of each month. As we return to serving the congregation from the front, this will mean preparing the trays and the bread, as well as collecting and washing up the glasses afterwards. If you feel that you would like to serve in this way, please see Ruth in the church office. Thank you.
