Gathered to Praise – 6pm
You are warmly invited to join us for our monthly service of praise and testimony on Sunday evening at 6pm at Priory Street.
Mark the date: Prayer Night – 4th September
If you love Jesus and want to grow in your care for those He loves, or you simply wonder what Dan (the youth worker) does in his week – then this night is for YOU! What better way to launch into the autumn term than to join with other believers and pray for the young people of our church, homes and community.
Three ways to pray:
(1) Join with Dan and others from 6-7pm at Priory Street to hear Dan share on the youth work and lift the people and programmes before God.
(2) If an hour isn’t enough for you, then between 4-8pm in the hut there will be a whole host of prayer stations set up to direct you in praying, so feel free to utilise this by dropping in and getting praying for the youth!
(3) The last resort: if you can’t clear your diary for this crucial event, then grab Dan at the morning service and get a sheet that you can take home to inform you in how to pray for the youth & children of our church.
Men’s Weekend Away: 16th-18th September
“Keeping in step with the Spirit: the vital role of the Holy Spirit in the life of the believer.”
Steve Lancaster will be opening the Bible to us on this exciting subject! The location is at a lovely spot near to Pen y Fan, Wales. There will be some walking, some talking, some eating, some teaching, and lots of fellowship to encourage us in our walk with our dear Lord. The cost will be around £60 with subsidies available – so please don’t let money be an issue for not coming along. The booking link is: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/cbc-mens-weekend-away-tickets-375214987127. For more information please speak to Tom B or Ian H.
11.15 Junior Church news
We’re introducing a new group at the 11.15 service – we are blessed with lots of children and we want to be able to provide the best environment for them to hear the gospel and get to know Jesus. This new group will start on Sunday 11th September and will consist of children who are in years 3 and 4. This group will meet in the middle room (between creche and the coffee hall). The structure of the other classes will be:
In the coffee hall – Preschool – year 2
In the hut – Years 5 and 6
As always, the age split is not set in stone so please do speak to Rhiannon if you are at all concerned about which group your child will be part of and how we can support your child in this change.
We are blessed with a team of willing volunteers who lead the classes each week but we need helpers to ensure we have a second adult in the class. Again, speak to Rhiannon if you would like to know more about what being a helper in junior church entails.
Please pray for all the leaders and helpers in junior church, both at Priory Street and Church on the Green – pray that the children in our care grow to know Jesus as their Saviour. Pray that God would continue to inspire and equip the volunteers with the strength and passion to encourage the little ones week by week. Thank you!
First Aid course – 17th September
First Aid training will be taking place at church on Saturday 17th September from 9am-4pm. If you are a first aider whose training has lapsed, or you’re someone who would like to be trained in order to serve your particular ministry in this way, please email Ruth in the church office to reserve a (free) place.
