Craft Group – tomorrow

Gathered to Pray – Sunday evening 6pm

The International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church is usually the first Sunday in November. Please join us on Sunday evening as we gather to pray for Open Doors. We will watch three prayer videos which give some insight into the scope and work of its ministry in Ethiopia, south-east Asia and other locations. There will times for prayer between the videos. Copies of the latest Open Doors magazines and prayer diaries will be available and some information on the founder, Brother Andrew, who recently went to be with the Lord, aged 94. There will also be a Christmas card to sign for persecuted believers. For information, Open Doors is running a webinar for the International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church at 7.30pm on Sunday – click here to register.

Midweek service – Wednesday 9th November

Please join us at 2pm for our midweek service, when Alan C will be bringing us the Word. Refreshments will be available afterwards.

Potential Associate Pastor, and service times to hear him preach on 13th November (Remembrance Sunday)

We are excited to have a candidate for the role of Associate Pastor coming to preach at CBC on 13th November. To enable as many as possible to hear him preach, and also to allow him and his wife to experience Church on the Green, he will be preaching at both Church on the Green and at Priory Street:

The meeting at Church on the Green, Rudloe will be at 9.15am.

The Priory Street congregations will join together for Sunday 13th, meeting for an act of remembrance at 10.55am, followed by the service at 11.15am.

This means that there will not be a service at Priory Street at 9.15 on 13th November.

Do pray for this candidate and his wife as they prepare to join us, that we would have a clear and united sense of God’s will for them and for this church. This isn’t a preach with a view, but the pre-cursor to that and so, if all goes well, there will be a further opportunity to hear the candidate preach and to hold Q&A sessions with him before we hold a church meeting to discern whether to call him.

Save the Date – Men’s Ministry 25th Nov

There will be a men’s ministry event, including bonfire, at John P’s farm, Upper Combe Farm, on Friday 25th November. More details to follow nearer the time.

Women’s Bible Study – Monday 28th Nov

Ladies, please note in your diaries our next Bible study when Sharon will be sharing from James 1: 19-27. Study buddy notes can be found here, and copies are also available on the table at Priory Street.

Nativity on the Farm – registration open!

CBC on the Farm Productions is pleased to announce the return of Born in a Barn: The Farmyard Nativity. Join us on Saturday 10th December at Upper Combe Farm to hear the retelling of the birth of Jesus in the town of Bethlehem. After the nativity, refreshments will be served in the stone barn. There will be three performances and tickets are limited to 75 per show. Registration is now open – click here for your free ticket. Please book a ticket for all adults and children attending as we need to know exact numbers for health and safety.

Oasis mission trip 2023

For all those interested in a possible working party at the Oasis refugee centre in Austria, we have had a recent Skype call with staff. We are looking at 6th – 10th February 2023. If you have shown previous interest we have sent you an email. Please contact us if you’ve not had one. We are also happy to send information to anybody else who might be interested. Thank you, Martin & Jo Sheringham.

Let’s get ready to reach out this Christmas… Hope Explored taster sessions

It’s so exciting to be preparing Nativity on the Farm and our Christmas Services – let’s pray that God will use these events to share His gospel to those who don’t yet know Him. Individual events are brilliant as first points of contact, but we want to offer more than that and get to know people better. So, at these events, we’re going to be offering the Hope Explored course (which we’ll be running in January). Invitations are always better when they’re made personally, and those invitations will be a lot more effective if we already have a good idea of what the course is like.

To help us get to know the Hope Explored course, Rob D is running a taster session at Priory Street on Sunday 27th November, at 6pm, and again on Wednesday, 30th November at 10am. Come along and find out how it works, so you can tell people what it’s like. Additionally, if you would like to explore this material in your LIFE groups, let Rob D know and we’ll help you get started.

And finally…

Well done, you made it to the end of the email! FLAGS is one of our weekly activities for children. If you can tell me what FLAGS stands for, I’ll give you a bar of chocolate! Email me on office@corshambaptists.org.
