Prayer walk – tomorrow morning

Please join us on a prayer walk for Rudloe tomorrow morning. We’ll set off from Broadwood School car park at 8.30am.

Week of Prayer / Pentecost service

The Corsham churches are setting aside the week from this Sunday leading up to Pentecost as a week of prayer. A prayer diary has been prepared, encouraging Christians from all our churches to pray for our witness for Christ in our community. If you would like to share in this, you’ll find single-sheet prayer diaries at the back of church with ideas for how we can each pray each day through this coming week. A joint churches service of celebration for Pentecost – the coming of the Holy Spirit – will take place at 6pm at St John the Baptist in Gastard next Sunday 19th May and all are warmly welcome. And may the Spirit fall afresh on each one of us this week!

Rudloe Community Centre – pledge form

Following the church meeting on 29th April and the need for further income to assess the viability of the Rudloe project, we are asking people to prayerfully consider increasing their giving or contributing time. The additional funds required are between £1,500 and £2,000 per month, which equates to every member increasing their giving by £15-£20 per month. However, we recognise that for some this is not feasible, whilst others may be able to give more.

If you are able to pledge additional monthly giving to the Church to help support the Rudloe project, or are able to contribute time, please complete the google form here (hard copies are available at church). Thank you in advance for your prayerful consideration. Note: this form is confidential and only seen by the treasurer.

Monthly mission update

This month’s update, with news and prayer requests from our mission partners, is available to pick up from church or read here.

Women’s Bible Study: Monday 20th May

Dear sisters in Christ, we’ll be continuing our studies in 1 John on 20th May when Hollie will be sharing what God has laid on her heart. We’ll kick off with a cuppa at 7.30pm. Study buddy notes are available at Priory Street or you can read them online at Grace Place here.

Men’s Ministry: Tuesday 28th May

Dear brothers in Christ, please note the 28th May in your diaries for the next men’s evening. We’ll be welcoming a guest speaker, Barry Funnell, who will be sharing with us how God used a student prank gone badly wrong to radically change the course of his life, and how being wheelchair-bound doesn’t stop him from travelling the world with Bible translation ministry The Word For the World.

Soup-makers needed

If you’ve ever been to our Souper Friday Cafe, you’ll know that we have some talented soup-makers among us. However, we could do with a few more people to make soup for the cafe – it won’t be every week, more like once a month. We can provide veggies from our Marketplace or help with the cost of ingredients – we just need YOU to turn them into yummy soup! If you’d like to help, please speak to Colin Whiting or any of the SF team.

Volunteer required – Designated Person for Safeguarding

Yes, we’re still looking for a volunteer, ideally with the relevant experience, to work in the Safeguarding Team as DPS – click here to read the role description. Please get in touch with Elspeth Pitman on elspethp@corshambaptists.org for further details or to express an interest.
