Sunday Services

9.15 service

Our Sunday services are live-streamed/recorded on our YouTube channel. If you would prefer not to appear on screen, you’re advised to sit in or under the balcony.

Pete Freegard celebrates his birthday today and he will very kindly be providing the cakes for refreshments following both morning services – thanks Pete!

Prayer walk tomorrow morning around Corsham (Sat 30th)

Please join Rob D tomorrow morning as he leads a prayer walk around Corsham. We will set off from CBC at 8.30am and would love you to join us.

The Ark – tomorrow!

Tomorrow is the first Ark of this academic year – come and join us for our family service at 10.30am at Priory Street. The puppets are well rested after their summer break and are keen to perform! Bring an animal toy along or even dress up as your favourite animal – you’ll find out why! Here’s the link to register your child/children.

We would love to grow the Ark team so, if you would like to know more, please speak to Rhiannon. We’d especially love some bakers to join our team; let Rhiannon know if you can help with providing cakes. And please pray for the new session of activities.

Praying Together – Sunday at 6pm

You are warmly invited to join us at our monthly prayer gathering which will have a new format! Come along on Sunday at 6pm to find out more and to pray for some of the needs of our church, community and world. If you’re put off by the thought of having to pray out loud in front of others, don’t be! There will be opportunities for praying silently at different prayer ‘stations’. Tearfund Big Quiz – 7th October

There’s still space for you to sign up your team for the Big Quiz, which promises to be an evening of fun while raising funds for a very good cause! Teams can have a maximum of 6 people and each person must register to attend on Eventbrite at cbcbigquiz.eventbrite.co.uk (or scan the QR code opposite). Tickets cost £5 per person which will be collected on the night. The quiz kicks off at 7pm. Any questions, please speak to Wendy Rowe.

Sunday 8th Oct – pilot services at Priory St and Neston

We’ll be holding ‘pilot’ services for the new works at Priory Street and Neston on 8th October, so please mark this date in your diary. Both services will start at 10.30am. If you’re coming to the service at the Memorial Hall in Neston, please only use the Hall car park if you are bringing equipment, or have accessibility needs. Other parking is available on the surrounding roads. Further ‘pilot’ services are planned for 12th November and 10th December.

Church Meeting and Special Church Meeting – Monday 9th Oct at 8pm

We encourage you to make every effort to attend the meeting in person and all who regularly attend a service at CBC are welcome to come along. The meeting will include important information and a vote on the proposal regarding the Rudloe Community Centre.

Women’s Bible Study – Mon 30th October

Dear sisters in Christ, what a wonderful evening we enjoyed together last Monday! We’re looking forward to our next study which will be on Monday 30th October from 7.30pm. Study buddy notes are available online here or you can pick them up from church. If you would like to be paired up with a study buddy, please speak to Anne Holmes.

11.15 service – creche volunteers needed

We are looking for 1-2 more crèche volunteers at the 11:15 service. Please find further information about the role description here and express your interest by filling out this short form so that someone can get in touch with you to discuss the role. The Light Party – 31st October

Our annual Light Party will be held on Tuesday 31st October from, 5-7pm. The volunteer sign up sheet is at the back of church, please sign up and pray!!

Save the date – Nativity on the Farm!

Please mark 9th December in your diaries for Nativity on the Farm at the Priors’ farm in Castle Combe. Keep your eyes open for further information in due course. If you are particularly eager to sign up you can speak to Adam, John P, Hollie or Rhiannon and they will make a note.

Raising Kids for Christ in a Confusing World: 20th January 2024

Registration is now open! Sign up today to save your space and join us for this day seminar as we explore current issues affecting our children. To save your space, please complete the form here.

With our guest speaker, we’ll engage with hot topics like identity, gender, technology, sexualisation, media, relationships and more. The day is made up of three sessions and is open to parents, grandparents and those who serve with CBC’s children’s and youth activities. Spaces are £5 each (payable on the day) , refreshments are provided but please bring your own packed lunch.

CBC members and friends are invited to register before 31st October, after which the event will be opened up to other local churches.

Regular activities

  • Our Community Money Advice service is available by appointment for anybody who is struggling with debt problems. Do get in touch if you would like help and advice in this area. Tel. 07895 716485.
  • Prayer for Missions & the Persecuted Church: the first Tuesday of every month, 7.45pm on Zoom. Contact the office for login details.
  • Women’s Bible Study: we meet on the last Monday every month from 7.30pm.
  • Souper Friday Café: Friday mornings from 10am-1pm. Come and enjoy a free drink, cake and soup. Open for help with food items to take away too. Speak to Colin W, Esther A, Joan C or Jo S for more information.
  • Ark Children’s Service: last Saturday of the month 10:30am-12:00pm during term-time only.
  • Mum’s Bible Study: Monday mornings between 9.30am-11.30am (term-time only). For more information speak to Christine C or Vicki K.
  • Toddlers: Thursdays 10:00am-11:30am during term-time only.
  • FLAGS (Fun Learning About God and Scripture): Wednesdays at 4.30-5.30pm during term time. For Primary School-aged children.
  • Hang out: a fun fellowship group for KS2 children, meeting on the second Sunday of the month from 4.00-5.30pm.
  • Life groups meet in person and/or online. Contact us if you’d like to join one.
  • Youth Groups – contact Dan for further details.
