Steve and Ruth are working for the Institute of Bible and Ministry in Tanzania. IBM is an ongoing theological education programme for pastors and evangelists of the Africa Inland Church in eastern Tanzania. The goals of IBM are to enable, mobilise and inspire pastors to a closer relationship with God and to equip them to reach their own communities with the Gospel, enabling the church to grow. Steve is involved as a Bible teacher, and in the planning of regional and diocese-wide seminars. Ruth works as a communications’ officer as well as teaching English.
Steve and Ruth completed an initial course in Swahili and are living in the bustling market town of Morogoro, at the base of the Uluguru mountain range, about 120 miles inland from Dar es Salaam.
They are back in the UK on home assignment and will return to Tanzania in September 2016.
The CBC link person for Steve and Ruth is Kathy Larkman.
More information about Africa Inland Mission can be found at the AIM website http://www.aimint.org/ and up-to-date information about Steve and Ruth is available from their blog at:
Eddie Larkman, our pastor, also has a longstanding involvement with AIM International. He has spoken at many AIM conferences over the years and has taken two short term teams from CBC to serve overseas since coming to CBC in 2010. Eddie took a short term mission trip to Uganda in June and October 2015.
A small team has been sent out to help with the building project at Sanga Sanga. They will assist in the construction of three “huts”. We also organised a fund-raiser, the proceeds of which will go towards ongoing building at the centre. The team returns on the 3rd July.
