Pray the Word photo“So put to death the sinful, earthly things lurking within you. Have nothing to do with sexual immorality, impurity, lust, and evil desires. Don’t be greedy, for a greedy person is an idolater, worshipping the things of this world. 6 Because of these sins, the anger of God is coming. 7 You used to do these things when your life was still part of this world. 8 But now is the time to get rid of anger, rage, malicious behaviour, slander, and dirty language. 9 Don’t lie to each other, for you have stripped off your old sinful nature and all its wicked deeds. 10 Put on your new nature, and be renewed as you learn to know your Creator and become like him. 11 In this new life, it doesn’t matter if you are a Jew or a Gentile, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbaric, uncivilized, slave, or free. Christ is all that matters, and he lives in all of us.” Colossians 3:5-11 NLT

PRAYER:

Thank you Father that because our new, hidden life in Christ changes who we are; IN CHRIST! Help us to realize more every day that we can’t both have a life in Christ and a life in sin. Help us to kill and eradicate the remaining sin in our lives, one day at a time. Cause us to realize that our calling now is not to negotiate or procrastinate with sin. Help us to take drastic action with sin, as these verses teach. Put-off-the-Old-Self-and-Put-on-the-New.Change our mindsets as we live our lives IN CHRIST. Help us to throw off our “old selves” and continually “put on our new selves” with the mindset of Christ. Please bring about deep change in our friendships, family, marriages and dealings with people in the workplace and our spheres of influence. Help us to be truth telling people. As a church family, help us to embrace that man-made differences and divisions are unimportant because we are Christ’s people. Praise our Triune God that YOU are all that matters, and You live in all of us! May we honour and glorify Christ by our unity.

It is in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour in which we pray, Amen.
