Scripture should shape how we pray for our unbelieving friends and family. The Bible teaches us that no one come to Christ ‘unless the Father draws him,’ and so we lift those words from the Bible and ask God to draw the person to Christ. Likewise, Scripture says that the Holy Spirit convicts the world of ‘sin and righteousness and judgement,’ and so we pray that God would convict the person of sin. Wherever the Bible speaks of the process of a person becoming a Christian, we can use that instruction to inform our praying for the unsaved.
