Sunday 5th December – joint service at The Corsham School – 11am

This coming Sunday Priory Street and COTG congregations will be meeting together at The Corsham School. Steve L will be preaching from Matthew 1: 18-25 on The Coming King. Music will be lead by Adrian P – song sheets are available here. Refreshments will be available after the service. We look forward to joining together as one body in Christ!

Gathered to Pray – Sunday 5th December – 6pm

Please join us at Priory Street this coming Sunday for an hour of prayer together. We will focus on prayer for the Persecuted Church and will be praying specifically for our brothers and sisters in Afghanistan, Cameroon and Lebanon. We will be using Open Doors’ latest “Prayer News Videos” from their website. If you can’t join us in person please do watch the videos at home and pray for these needs.

Youth weekend away 3rd-5th December

About 25 young people and 10 leaders are staying in Chepstow this weekend for fun, food and to grow in their relationship with Jesus. They would appreciate prayer for:

  • safety
  • stamina
  • friendships
  • young people to come to know our Lord Jesus Christ and develop in their knowledge and relationship with Him.

‘Angels, Dreams and Prophecies’ – an audiobook by Jo Sheringham

If you feel bogged down by all the great reading material available at Christmas-time, here is something you can listen to instead: twelve voices from the Nativity story, based on the first two chapters of Matthew and Luke including… singing and silence, maps and mystery, plans and plots, flights and frights, a birth and a death, as well as angels, dreams and prophecies.

Written for grown-ups rather than children, each episode is about 20 minutes long – perfect for when you are up to your elbows in sprouts or curling the ribbon on your perfectly wrapped presents…

Visit the CBC website, YouTube channel and Facebook page for each episode as they are released in the run-up to Christmas. If you find these difficult to access, we can provide a written copy. Please contact the church office or message the Facebook page for more details.

Carols By Candlelight – Sunday 19th December

tea lights stretching into the distance

You are warmly invited to our Carols by Candlelight service, as we prepare to celebrate the wonder of Christmas and the birth of the Prince of Peace. This year we will be holding two carol services on 19th December, the first starting at 5pm and the second at 7pm. You will need to book your place to attend either service – click here to book. Refreshments will be provided after the service. If you’re on Facebook here’s a link you can use to invite your friends and family.

Calling all First Aiders….

If you are currently qualified as a First Aider, would you be willing to make yourself available to cover some of our in-person activities? It would be for a short period while we wait for training to take place for our regular First Aiders. If so, please contact Tim M through the church office on office@corshambaptists.org. Thank you!

Looking ahead to….

…Sunday 12th December, when we will be sharing communion together at the Priory Street services. We ask you to bring your own bread and something to represent the blood of Christ (e.g. grape juice, red squash, non-alcoholic wine) as we will not be serving from the front in order to reduce the risk of COVID transmission.

Thank you from Africa Inland Mission

We recently received this message from AIM: “Please pass on our grateful thanks to the members of Corsham Baptist Church for their generous gift of £3,150 given recently for the work of AIM International, and for their partnership in helping make Jesus known to all African peoples.” CBC’s leadership team and Wendy Rowe, our Mission ministry leader, echo these thanks too.
