Dear Key Stage 2 parents/guardians, please send your KS2 children along to CBC this Sunday (4:00-5:30pm) for fun, food & fellowship. Any questions, please see Beth Mills or Rhiannon.
New role and new opportunity to serve
With the continued growth of the Church and expanding ministry activity, the work of our Treasurer also continues to grow. In discussion with Tom, our current Treasurer, the Trustees have decided to seek an individual to take up a new role of “Assistant Treasurer”. This position is open to all members and regular attendees at CBC. It does not require any formal accounting experience or qualifications, simply an ability to work with numbers and to be able to use our accounting software which is not complex and training will be provided. This is a vital part of our work at CBC ensuring that our day-to-day finances run smoothly. Tom will continue to take overall responsibility for our treasury and the Assistant Treasurer will report to him. The role will involve around 4 hours per week spread over the week to fit in with the circumstances of the candidate.
If you feel this role may be a way you could serve God and your brothers and sisters at CBC, please contact Rob Perks or Tom Lewis for more information: robp@corshambaptists.org or toml@corshambaptists.org or speak to them at church.
Men’s Chilli Night: Tuesday 14th March, 7:30pm at Priory Street
There is still time to sign up for this exciting event – ‘One Man’s Journey – from tsunami survivor to faith’. Come and hear our guest speaker talk about his experience of surviving the Indonesian tsunami in 2004 and his subsequent journey to faith. This is a great opportunity to bring your non-Christian friends along. The cost is £5 per person as a contribution to the chilli (payable on the night). Please register for your place via Eventbrite here so that we know how many to cater for. We look forward to seeing you there! Men’s Ministry Team.
Midweek service – Weds 15th at 2pm
You are warmly invited to join us for our fortnightly midweek service. Rob P will be bringing us God’s word from 1 Cor 15:50-58, and refreshments will be served afterwards. If you can’t attend in person, you can listen to a recording of the sermon via CBC’s website.
New! Monthly mission update
CBC supports a number of missionaries and mission organisations, some from among our own membership, through prayer and financial gifts. To aid your prayers and keep you informed, we will be producing a Monthly Mission Update. You can download this month’s update here or pick up a paper copy from the table at church. Miriam Fry, daughter of Ben & Ruth, has sent her latest update which you can read here.
30 Days of Prayer for the Muslim World – ‘Just for kids’
Ruth still has copies of the 30 Days of Prayer guide available in the office (£1.60 per copy). There is also a kids version available to download from World Prayer Guides – click here. It goes hand-in-hand with the adult version and will help your children learn about the Muslim world and encourage them to pray. Why not get both guides and make a family commitment to pray for Muslims during their season of fasting?
Middlefields House prayer meeting – cancelled
Last week’s notices informed you that there would be a prayer meeting at Middlefields House on Thursday, 9th March. Please note that this prayer meeting has been cancelled.
