Joint service at Priory Street

We will be joining together as one congregation at 11am at Priory Street this Sunday. Steve Lancaster will be preaching on Ephesians 2:8-9 and worship will be led by Ben F. The service will be streamed online – click here to join.

Please join us on Sunday evening at 6pm for an hour of prayer, an opportunity to bring the burdens and concerns of our church, community, and the world to the Lord in prayer.

Craft Group – Saturday 2nd July

The craft group will be meeting at Priory Street from 10am-12.30pm. Bring your own craft project to work on and why not invite your crafting friends to come too – all are welcome.

Digital Mixer Training – Saturday 2nd July

Ben R will be running training on the new digital mixer from 2pm tomorrow at church. Please come along if you are interested in serving the church in this way – we need more people to join the team!

Midweek service – Wednesday 6th July

Our regular midweek service will commence at 2pm on 6th July. David M will bring the Word, and refreshments will be available after the service. All are welcome!

Newcomers’ Lunch – Sunday 17th July

If you’ve started coming to a service at CBC (any congregation) since March 2020 you are warmly invited to join us after the 11.15 service on 17th July for a light lunch. It’s an opportunity for us to get to know each other better and for you to ask any questions you may have about church life here at CBC. Children are very welcome as this is an informal occasion. There’s a sign up sheet on the table at the back of Church or you can email or call Ruth in the church office.

Church members’ meeting

The next church members’ meeting will be held on Monday 18th July at 8pm.

Men’s Ministry – Tuesday 19th July

There will be a Men’s Ministry BBQ at Priory Street on 19th July at 7:30pm. Come along for fellowship, good food and to hear more about the Men’s Weekend away in September. We hope to see you there! Men’s Ministry Team.

Cultural Issues talks on Saturdays in September and October

How do we engage with our culture and keep a firm grip on God’s teaching? Rob will be repeating the cultural issues talks recently given to the men’s ministry, so that everyone can access this important teaching. The four topics are same-sex attraction, gender identity, beginning of life and euthanasia. The teaching sessions will be across four Saturday afternoons: 10th and 24th of September, 8th and 29th of October. No need to book; all are welcome.

Word Alive: 1st-6th April 2023

Booking for Word Alive 2023 opens on 13th July so if you would like to be encouraged and equipped to “Walk in the Word” take a look at their website Word Alive 2023 – Walk in the Word (wordaliveevent.org), then speak to Adrian or Jo P or Alan or Helen C. We’d love to see more of you there next year.

Ministry training course

The South West Gospel Partnership Ministry Training Course for 2022-3 is taking applications and we are encouraged about the amount of interest after two Covid-affected years. MTC is suitable for anyone who can free up their Thursdays to drink deeply from Scripture and church history, and who wants to grow in their usefulness to the body of Christ.

Other Regular Activities

Prayer for Missions & the Persecuted Church: the first Tuesday of every month, 7.45pm on Zoom. Contact the office for login details.
Craft group: if you enjoy crafting come and join us on the first Saturday of the month (unless other notified) from 10am-12.30pm at Priory Street. Please bring your own craft project to do.
Community Money Advice is open for face-to-face meetings each Thursday evening and Friday morning. Do get in touch if you would like help and advice in this area. Pre-booked appointments only.
Souper Friday Café: Friday mornings from 9am. Come and and enjoy a free drink, cake and soup. Open for help with food items to take away too. Speak to Colin W, Esther A, Joan C or Jo S for more information.
Ark Children’s Service: last Saturday of the month 10:30am-12:00pm during term-time only.
Mum’s Bible Study: Monday mornings between 9.30am-11.30am (term-time only). For more information speak to Christine C or Vicki K.
Toddlers: Thursdays 10:00am-11:30am during term-time only.
Life groups meet in person and/or online. Contact us if you’d like to join one.
