This week’s notices

IMPORTANT UPDATE – Corsham Christmas outreach event – Sat 7th Dec 11am
Due to predicted strong winds and heavy rain tomorrow, the Trustees have decided to scale back the outreach event in Corsham town centre so volunteers are no longer needed. Please continue to pray that we will still meet people in our community tomorrow, to share the joy of the birth of Jesus.

Junior Church – urgent help needed
We are urgently looking for two more teachers to join the Junior Church team to support the important ministry and share the Gospel and your love of Jesus with our church children.
The children are God’s next generation to pass on the Word to, we want to provide those firm foundations and truths for these precious lives and to encourage them in their faith journey with Jesus.
Please prayerfully consider if you can help us, even if once every 6-8 weeks, you will be such a blessing to the team and children.  If this is something you can consider, please follow this link

Updating information for children in junior church
In the coming weeks,  we will be asking your children to fill in an information sheet about themselves, asking them about what they enjoy in junior church,  the activities they enjoy and any things they find difficult.  This will be done during the junior church sessions. The aim is to use the information in order to help the teachers and leaders plan and deliver the junior church sessions more effectively. There will be a couple of questions for parents to answer too.  We appreciate the time taken to complete these forms and anticipate them to be beneficial to everyone in junior church.  If you have any questions regarding the information sheets,  please speak to Rhiannon or email: childrensworker@corshambaptists.org

Prayer walk around Rudloe – Sat 7th Nov 8.30am

Upcoming Events

Christianity Explored Course – Thurs 16th Jan 7.30pm

We’d love to invite you or perhaps someone you know to join our next Christianity Explored course where we will explore more about the life of Jesus. This seven-session series will give you time and space to think through who Jesus is, why he came and what it means to follow him. You will have the opportunity to ask any questions and share your thoughts with the group in a relaxed and informal setting. We will meet for 7 weeks and each week we’ll share a meal together, read a bit of the Bible, hear a short talk and have a chat based on the talk. Please share this with friends, family, neighbours and colleagues who you think may be interested in joining us. Please speak to Adam if you’d like to join us adamj@corshambaptists.org

Bereavement ministry and support – Date TBC

As a Church we are planning to host a half day course on a Saturday morning run by Care for The Family called “The Bereavement Care Awareness Course”. The aim is to show us how best to support people we know who are suffering in grief. The Bereavement Journey Course – 5th Feb – 26th March

We will be offering another course from 5th Feb – 26th March, if you would like to sign up or receive more information please email bereavement@corshambaptists.org or visit the website to find out more. The course is for anyone who has suffered a significant loss, recently or in the past, and are finding their grief difficult to process. This is a seven week course consisting of small group discussions and videos developed by Christians. The course is open to anyone in our local community whether or not they attend CBC. Please speak to Adam, Gordon or Anne Hill for more information.

Volunteers Required!

Pastoral care

Tim and Kathryn Hogg will be heading up a team to best support any ‘non-spiritual’ needs for the church. They are asking the church for willing helpers to assist where possible.
Roles include:
* Visiting to homes and hospitals to be a friendly face and listening ear
* Helping with tasks like shopping or setting up an online shopping order.
* Being part of the meal train ably run by Sarah Blaikley
We want to be a church that can be responsive and loving to meet the needs of all the church family, so please prayerfully consider what you could do to help. For more information please email priorystpastoral@corshambaptists.org.

Christianity Explored

We are running another Christianity Explored course starting on 16th January 2025 at 7.30pm.  Over seven sessions, one per week, guests will read Mark’s Gospel to find out more about the life of Jesus Christ. The structure of each session is simple: a short Bible study, a talk and a discussion based on the talk. We need people to volunteer to cook a simple meal each week, volunteer helpers & table leaders. Full support & training will be provided. Please contact Adam if you can help adamj@corshambaptists.org

Volunteer required – Health & Safety Ministry Leader

Could you take on this role? Click here to read the role description and if you’re interested in helping in this way, please speak to Jonny Street or any of the trustees.
