Notice sheet for 10th July, 2016

Missions’ Sunday

Today is Missions’ Sunday! Steve Lancaster is preaching at all three services today and Ruth will be speaking to Junior Church during both morning services. To celebrate Mission Sunday we will be having an international tea from 4:00 pm to 5:45pm today. We would like people to bring finger food such as sandwiches, cakes, biscuits and anything else you can think of that comes from a different country! We will also welcome donations of non- alcoholic cold drinks. If you have any questions, speak to Wendy Rowe.

Weston Super Mare – Next week!

We are aware that a few of you will be making your own way rather than coming on the coach.  If this is you, please let Stuart and Lynne know before hand with your mobile number so we can contact you to let you know where we are on the beach.   If there are any final questions contact Stuart or Lynne Little on 01225 811960, otherwise we will see you outside Corsham Baptist Church Priory Street at  10:30 next Sunday.

If you do not wish to go on the trip, there will be a service at 11:15am – no 9:15am service.

** There will be no evening service on the 17th July. **

Church Meeting

Our next Church Meeting will be held on Monday 18th July at 8:00pm. Members are encouraged to attend.

Midweek Service

The next midweek service will be held on Wednesday 13th July. The text will be from Luke 21.20-38. Eric Seager will be leading and David Morrell preaching.

Hannah Little

Hannah Little will be going to serve in the Calais refugee camp, “The Jungle”, and is looking to collect items of clothing to take with her which must be brought to the church before the 17th July. These can be stored on the left hand side of stage in the church.

Missions and Persecuted Church Prayer

This is taking place on Monday 25th July. God is keeping us busy on the mission front and during this meeting we will be praying for Neal and Lesley Grindrod, the Lancasters and the Sanga Sanga building project, Hannah Little and the Bryants along with Karen and Anna Hurley. We will also be praying for the persecuted Church – our brothers and sisters in Christ worldwide. We would love you to join us from 7:45 to 9:00pm.

Ruth Lancaster

Ruth will be running the Nairn Half Marathon on 20th August which also happens to be her 50th birthday!  To make this special day even more memorable, Ruth is raising funds for the Institute of Bible & Ministry, the project Steve and Ruth are involved with in Tanzania.  Her goal is to raise £1,966.  If people would like to sponsor her, they can do so online at https://mydonate.bt.com/fundraisers/ruthlancaster1If you don’t have internet access you can give your gift to Ruth directly.  Steve is also running, and so is Ruth’s twin sister who, funnily enough, will also be 50 on that day! Many thanks.

New Ministries

Please continue to pray for the following two ministries which have started at Corsham Baptist Church, one at Priory Street and one at Church on the Green:

Energize, which is an outreach event on Friday nights for years 6 and 7 from 5:30-6:30pm at Priory Street. Please pray that young people’s lives would be changed through the hearing of God’s word.

Cafe on the Green, a new ministry of our Rudloe congregation, Church on the Green. This is taking place every Saturday afternoon at the Rudloe Community Centre from 2:30-4:30pm. Please pray that people from the local community would come down for tea and cake and we continue to build relationships with them.
