Superhero Holiday Bible Club
THIS WEEK!
18th April – 21st April, 10am- 12.30pm
This is for primary school aged children. This year we will be looking at some Bible heroes as we gather together for our fun-filled holiday club. As always this cannot be done without the support of our fantastic church family. If you would like to serve God then there are many areas in which you can serve: Worship, leading and helping small groups, catering, welcome, registration, kitchen help, serving refreshments, sound desk, projector, set up and set down. If you would like to know more about the holiday club including how to serve, please speak to Rhiannon, who will be only too willing to talk things through with you. Please start praying for this amazing opportunity to share God with the next generation.
Uganda Youth Fundraiser
Several young people are going on the mission trip to Uganda in the summer and are holding a fundraising event at Priory Street on Saturday afternoon, 22nd April, commencing at 2pm and will include coffee and cake and an auction of promises.
Traidcraft
Julie King will be stepping down from Traidcraft at the end of May. If you would like to take this on, please speak to Julie.
Ladies’ Bible Study
Notes for the next ladies’ bible study which will take place on Monday 24th April are on the table at the back of the church. Please take one in preparation of the study or speak to Anne Holmes or Kathy Larkman for more information.
Parents’ Evening (for parents of Young People)
Dan Ovens would like to invite all parents of teens to his house (16 Arnolds Mead) on Thursday 4th May 7.30pm for a parents’ evening. The idea is to provide an opportunity for you to find out how your child is getting on, about what they get up to and future youth ministry plans (without relying on prising information out of your child!). There will also be space for you to give honest evaluation, ask questions and share any concerns.
Let there be Science – David Hutchings
David Hutchings is a physics teacher who has recently co-authored a book on science and religion. He will be coming to give a presentation on Christianity and science working hand in hand. This will be followed by a Q&A session and refreshments. Date: Saturday 13th May @ 7:30pm at Priory Street. Please invite non-Christian friends!
Cards for Persecuted Church
Easter cards for Persecuted Believers are available at the back. Please send with prayer and a verse of encouragement. Please contact Vanessa Naish for further details.
From the Treasurer
We are looking for volunteers to add to our team of counters for the weekly offering. This involves being available to count and record the Sunday morning offerings at 12.30pm for about 20 minutes approximately once a month, starting in May. The task is always done by a counter and a recorder. If you are willing to join the team please contact Roger Hammett or Michael Prior.
The Ark
After the excitement of Easter and the holidays, don’t forget the next ark is on again on Saturday 29th April at 10.00am at CBC, Priory Street. It is aimed at 0-7yrs but all are welcome, with an adult.
EASTER HOLIDAYS CONTINUING THIS WEEK SO REGULAR GROUPS WILL NOT BE MEETING.
