Notice sheet for 7th May 2017

**TANZANIA GIFT DAY**

If you would like to contribute towards the Gift Day offering to support the building work at the Sanga Sanga Retreat Centre in Tanzania, please do make use of the special yellow envelopes which are available on the table at the back of the building.  Please mark the envelope MISSION/SANGA SANGA, and if you are able to gift aid your donation, complete the declaration on the envelope.  If you are not able to do this, please just score out the declaration.

When the offering is taken, only the contents of the yellow envelopes will be included in the Gift Day total.  Yellow envelopes handed in after today, 7th May 2017, will be added to the Gift Day total later, but blue envelopes and loose cash/cheques will be treated as regular giving to the general work of the church.  Please speak to Lynne Little (Rudloe), Michael Prior (Priory Street 9.15) or Roger Hammett (Priory Street 11.15) should you wish to clarify these arrangements.

Let there be Science – David Hutchings

David Hutchings is a physics teacher who has recently co-authored a book on science and religion.  He will be coming to give a presentation on Christianity and science working hand in hand. This will be followed by a Q&A session and refreshments.  Date: Saturday 13th May @ 7:30pm at Priory Street.  Please invite non-Christian friends!

Kathy Larkman

Kathy Larkman and Debbie Jackson are in Tanzania and return on Tuesday.  Kathy is speaking at an AIM women’s retreat.  Please pray for her as she delivers her talks and also as they travel back to England.

Midweek Service

The next midweek service will take place on Wednesday, 10th May, commencing at 2pm. The text is Ruth 2 and Eric will be leading and preaching.  The service is followed by home-made tea/coffee and cake.  All welcome to attend!

Steve and Gill Bryant

Please pray for Steve and Gill who are in Germany until the 15th May. They are speaking at two conferences – the first one is a WEC gathering for staff involved in training new missionaries and the second is a multi-missions’ conference focused on meeting the needs of families serving overseas.

Lancaster Newsletter

Please take the time to read the latest newsletter from Steve and Ruth Lancaster who are our missionaries in Tanzania.  It makes for a most interesting read!  There are paper copies on the table at the back or you can go to http://lancsintanz.aimsites.org

Uganda team fundraiser

Do you like breakfast? Do you want to support the team going to Uganda? Then join us on Saturday June 17th at 10am for our fundraising brunch. There will be lots of breakfast choices as well as cakes. So why not drop in for something to eat and a chat and help raise some funds for the team.

Praise and Worship Evening

On Sunday 21st May at 6pm, we will have the first of our regular praise and worship evenings (planned for the third Sunday evening in the month).  The evening will be set aside for a time of extended sung worship, praise and prayer, including some testimonies to the greatness of our Lord Jesus Christ.  The evening will be led by Nancy and Jo Pillinger.  This is a great opportunity to meet friends from across our congregations, so let us fill our church with voices eager to praise Him.

Wedding

Lucie Whiting, daughter of Colin and Heather, and Louie Blystad-Collins are getting married on the 18th May at 12:30. Everyone is welcome to attend the church ceremony at Priory Street!

Traidcraft

Julie King will be stepping down from Traidcraft at the end of May.  If you would like to take this on, please speak to Julie.
