Infant Dedication
This morning we are having an infant dedication service for Samuel Lilley, baby son of Mark and Helen. We look forward to welcoming their friends and family to this special occasion.
Wedding
Steph and Beren are getting married next Saturday, 8th July at 1pm! Everyone is invited to join in the celebration of their wedding day by coming to the church service at Priory Street.
Elder Election and Church Meeting
At the Church Meeting on 17th July 2017 we will hold an election for the role of Elder of CBC as part of our plan to expand the Oversight Team. The nomination process ends tonight at 6pm. Please hand your completed nomination forms to Alan Christie. Minutes and agenda for the Church Meeting will be on the table at the back on 16th July.
WEC Training Course in July
Thank you to everyone who has already offered help for our course. We are really encouraged by the response from CBC. There are some remaining needs, so please speak to Steve or Gill Bryant if you can help.
Wednesday evening 26th – tea/coffee and biscuits – serve at + 9pm and clear up;
Friday 28th – lunch co-ordinator (no cooking, helper provided);
Sunday lunch for one young woman from Hong Kong, 30th July;
Cakes or salads for Tuesday 25th to Friday 28th July.
We also need an emergency standby driver for the week of 24th to 29th July (in addition to those already involved). Thank you!
Picnic and Baptisms!
Our church family day this year will be held on Sunday 9th July. Morning services at Priory Street will go ahead as normal. We will all then meet on the green in Rudloe at 1pm for a picnic and this will be followed at 2pm by two baptisms which will be conducted by Rob Durant. These are the first baptisms to be held at Church on the Green! Please note : there will be no evening service on 9th July.
Traidcraft
On the 9th July Julie King will have a table out for one final time to sell off remaining unsold traidcraft items. Please make a few purchases before heading off to the picnic at Rudloe!
Midweek Service
Our next midweek service will be held this Wednesday 5th July at 2pm. The text is 1 Samuel 17. Eric Seager will be leading and preaching and there will be communion. Please stay for refreshments and fellowship after the service.
TLC Summer Party
Our annual TLC summer party is taking place on Saturday 15th July from 3-5pm. Please speak to Michael or Wendy Prior about invitations. Help will be needed with the following:10 – 12 noon sandwich-making; 2 – 3pm kitchen; 3 – 4pm kitchen; 4 – 5pm kitchen; 5 – 6pm clear away! There is a sign-up sheet at back of church for these jobs and for donations of cakes and scones. Speak to Joan Cooper for more information.
