Rob D will bring the Word from Exodus 15: 1-21 and music will be led by Matt E. Intercessory prayers will be led by Jonny S. The service will be streamed online – click here to join.
We will be sharing communion in all three congregations on Sunday morning. As we have gone back to serving from the front there is no need to bring your own communion elements.
Hang Out – Sunday 10th at 4pm
Mums and Dads – there’s an opportunity for your KS2 aged children (7-11 yrs) to come and ‘hang out’ with their friends at Priory Street from 4pm-5.30pm. Rhiannon and Beth M will be organising games, fun and snacks and will host a Bible Q&A – if your kids have questions about God, the Bible and what it all means, here is a perfect opportunity for them to ask those questions. Please speak to Rhiannon or Beth for more details.
Discipleship Explored – Sunday 10th at 6pm
The focus for this week’s session is “Rejoicing in Christ”. Do join us at Priory Street as we study how we ought to deal with conflict between fellow believers and why rejoicing is key to our discipleship.
Men’s Ministry BBQ
Tom B would like to let you know that the BBQ that was to be held on 19th July has now been postponed until the new term.
Newcomers’ Lunch – Sunday 17th July
If you have started coming to a service at CBC (any congregation) since March 2020 you are warmly invited to join us after the 11.15 service on 17th July for a light lunch. It’s an opportunity for us to get to know each other better and for you to ask any questions you may have about church life here at CBC. Children are very welcome as this is an informal occasion. There’s a sign-up sheet on the table at the back of Church or you can email or call Ruth in the church office.
Church members’ meeting
The next church members’ meeting will be held on Monday 18th July at 8pm. All are welcome to join us at that meeting, whether you are a member or not.
Memorial service for Sarah MacGregor
Our dear sister Sarah went to be with the Lord recently and a memorial service for her will be held at the church on Wednesday 20th July at 11am. All are warmly welcome to attend.
Parking in Priory Street
Our neighbours in Priory Street have again been in touch with us to ask for our consideration in where we park when we come to church. Several of them are finding it increasingly difficult to park near their homes. Please bear this in mind on Sundays and during the week and make use of the 2 hours free parking in the town’s car parks.
Easter in Israel: April 2023!
What’s the view like from the Mount of Olives looking out over Jerusalem? Is old Jericho really still a heap of rubble? What’s it like to float in the Dead Sea? Can I really wade through a tunnel built by Hezekiah under the old city of Jerusalem?
You might well have asked these questions, and have a hundred more regarding the land of the Bible, but have you ever considered experiencing the answers?!
Steve Lancaster will be leading an Oak Hall trip to Israel trip over Easter next year and, whilst it won’t be an exclusively CBC trip, it would be great to have a contingent of CBC folk there. The dates are 1st-10th April 2023. For further details including itinerary, prices and booking details, please visit the Oak Hall website www.oakhall.co.uk/israel – the Easter trip code is IS17. You do need to be reasonably fit as there is a fair amount of walking, and you do need to have a sense of Biblical adventure! If you have any questions or want to discuss things in more detail, please contact Steve on stevelancs@hotmail.com or give him a ring on 07388 268895.
