Newcomers’ Lunch – Sunday 17th July

We’re looking forward to sharing a light lunch with those of you who are new to CBC after the 11.15 service and having the opportunity to get to know you better. Lunch will be ready at 1pm.

Gathered to Praise

Please join us at Priory Street at 6pm on Sunday evening for a time of praise and worship, led by Nancy S. In view of the forecasted hot weather, the service will be slightly shorter than usual.

Queenie Halliwell

Our dear sister Queenie went to be with the Lord on Wednesday 13th July after a short illness. There will be a thanksgiving service for her life at Priory Street on Thursday 4th August at 12pm, followed by refreshments at Cumberwell Park Golf Club, Bradford-on-Avon, B15 2PQ. Queenie was keen for as many of her friends to attend as are able. If you wish to go to the Golf Club after the service please let Eric Seager know so that the family may cater accordingly.

Church members’ meeting

The next church members’ meeting will be held on Monday 18th July at 8pm. All are welcome to join us at that meeting, whether you are a member or not. The agenda and associated papers will be available to pick up from church on Sunday morning, or you can view them here.

Baptism classes

We are intending to hold baptism classes starting in September. If you are interested, or would like to know more, please speak to Dan.

Life Groups

Rob P is seeking to update our list of life groups. If you are a life group leader, please email Ruth on office@corshambaptists.org with details of the day, time and where your life group meets. Many thanks!

Dates for your diaries

Ben Fry’s induction service at Leckhampton Baptist Church will be held on Saturday 3rd September at 4pm. All are welcome to attend. The address is Pilley Lane, Cheltenham GL53 9EP.

BUILD – The South West Men’s Convention 2022: brothers, you are warmly invited to attend this convention on Saturday 15th October at St. Michael’s Centre, Stoke Gifford. When so much of our lives is absorbed by the trivial, what are we doing that will last? This is the question that Adrian Reynolds, FIEC Head of National Ministries, and Jonathan Thomas, pastor of Cornerstone Church Abergavenny, will be seeking to answer. Retrieve your stuff from church….

Anne H is intending to do a deep clean of the church next month. If you’ve left any pots, dishes, tupperware, items of clothing, random objects, husbands or pets at the church, please collect them before the first week of August or they will be sent to charity 🙂 🙂

Regular Activities

• Community Money Advice is open for face-to-face meetings each Thursday evening and Friday morning. Do get in touch if you would like help and advice in this area. Pre-booked appointments only.
• Craft Group: if you enjoy crafting come and join us on the first Saturday of the month (unless other notified) from 10am-12.30pm at Priory Street. Please bring your own craft project to do.
• Souper Friday Café: Friday mornings from 9am. Come and enjoy a free drink, cake and soup. Open for help with food items to take away too. Speak to Colin W, Esther A, Joan C or Jo S for more information.
• Ark Children’s Service: last Saturday of the month 10:30am-12:00pm during term-time only.
• Mum’s Bible Study: Monday mornings between 9.30am-11.30am (term-time only). For more information speak to Christine C or Vicki K.
• Toddlers: Thursdays 10:00am-11:30am during term-time only.
• Life groups meet in person and/or online. Contact us if you’d like to join one.
• Youth Groups – contact Dan for further details.
