On the death of our Queen
Queen Elizabeth has died. Our sorrow is real, and our grief reflects how great a blessing God gave to us in such a wonderful ruler. Yet, as we mourn, we can also rejoice in our queen’s faith in Christ Jesus, and in His death on the cross. In Him we have sure and certain hope that death is not the end but simply the doorway into eternity with the King of kings and queens, and Lord of lords.
And as we rejoice in our queen’s saviour, let’s commit to praying faithfully for her family and our nation as we grieve her loss. And let’s pray for her son, King Charles III, that he would ascend to the throne to be an imitator of his mother as she imitated Christ. Let’s pray that our new king would set his eyes on his King, Jesus, and His saving work on the cross, and so be a model for us all.
– Rob Durant, Pastor

Cultural Issues – Saturday 10th at 1.30pm
Rob D is repeating the cultural issues talks that were given to the men’s ministry before the summer, so that everyone is able to access them. The first talk happens this *Saturday, 1.30pm at Priory Street*, and the subject is *Same Sex Attraction*. There’s no need to book, just turn up.
Sometimes it can feel like these issues only affect others, but we’re all part of the community of the Church, so even if same sex attraction isn’t something you experience personally, it’s still important to understand what the Bible teaches, so you know how to engage with people inside and outside the church in a way that honours God, demonstrates His love faithfully and truly, and points people to Him.
Gathered to Praise
Our monthly Praise service will be held at Priory Street at 6pm this Sunday evening. Please join us for a time of worship and testimony. All ages welcome!

Mission trips
Planning for short-term mission trips abroad has not been possible for the last couple of years. However, now we can consider them again. With this in mind we are putting out feelers in regards to:
A) mission trip to Oasis in Austria – one week.
B) mission trip to Sanga Sanga in Tanzania – two weeks.
Both of these trips would be working parties, involving a variety of hands-on activities. If either of these options spark your interest, please contact Martin Sheringham for an initial chat.
Women’s Bible Study
Dear sisters in Christ, you are warmly invited to join us as we study the book of James this season. James is a punchy book full of examples and commands on how to live as a Christian. The first of our study buddy notes can be found here. We encourage you to study with a buddy if you are able and if you would like to be paired up with a buddy please let Anne Holmes know. We hope that you will be able to join us in person on Monday 26th September. Details of how to join us via Zoom will follow shortly.
Date for your diary – Sunday 25th September – The Bible Matters!
The Word for the World – Steve Lancaster
How many languages are there in the world today? How many of them have the full Bible, and how many have NO scripture at all? What happened in 1382 and 1526 AD that is key to us being able to read our Bibles in English today?
The Word for the World is a ministry that is translating the Bible into languages that currently don’t have God’s Word. Come along at 6pm on 25th September to find out more about this work from Steve….and to discover the answers to the questions above, and many more that you didn’t know you wanted to ask!
Last, but not least….
Please note that the key box that was on the wall by the side door has been removed. Anyone requiring a key to access the building should request one from the church office.
