Joint service at Priory Street – 10.30am

All our congregations will be joining together as one for the joint service at 10.30am at Priory Street this Sunday. Rob D will be preaching on Romans 5:6-11 and worship will be led by Natalie O. Intercessory prayers will be led by Rob P. The service will be streamed online – click here to join.

Gather to Pray for our young people – this Sunday

Please join us for this important prayer event on Sunday afternoon/evening. If you love Jesus and want to grow in your care for those He loves, or you simply wonder what Dan (the youth worker) does in his week – then this is for YOU! What better way to launch into the autumn term than to join with other believers and pray for the young people of our church, homes and community!

Three ways to pray:

(1) Join Dan in the church from 6-7pm on Sunday evening to hear him share on the youth work and to lift the people and programmes before God.
(2) If an hour isn’t enough for you, between 4-8pm in the Hut, there will be a whole host of prayer stations set up to direct you in praying, so feel free to utilise these by dropping in and getting praying for the youth!
(3) The last resort: if you can’t clear your diary for this crucial event, than grab Dan at the morning service and get a sheet that you can take home to inform you in how to pray for the youth and children of our church. Thanks!

Wingrave Wedding

Joy will be marrying Daniel Schmeer at CBC at 12 noon tomorrow! All those who knew and supported Joy growing up are welcome to attend and stay for refreshments afterwards.

Craft Group

The craft group would usually meet on the first Saturday of the month but please note that, because of Joy’s wedding tomorrow, the group will meet next Saturday, 10th September from 10am-12.30pm.

Fay Parker

Our dear sister Fay, who was well known to those at COTG, passed away on 24th August. Her funeral service will be held at Priory Street on Wednesday 14th September at 11am. All who knew Fay are warmly invited to attend the service and for refreshments afterwards at The Royal British Legion. The family requests that you wear bright colours.

Prayer for mission and the persecuted church – Tuesday 6th September

Please join us at 7.45pm as we spend time in prayer for our mission partners and the persecuted church. We meet via Zoom, details below:

Calling all drivers

Souper Friday would like some help driving the minibus on a Friday morning to pick up and drop off clients who would otherwise find it difficult to attend the marketplace/café. We already have one driver but it would be great to have additional drivers for occasional support. If this is something you might be interested in then please contact either Colin W, Jo S, Esther A or Joan C. Thanks!

Men’s Weekend Away: 16th-18th September

There is still room for you to join us for this weekend away near Pen y Fan, Wales. Steve Lancaster will be bringing teaching on the vital role of the Holy Spirit in the life of the believer. The cost is around £60 with subsidies available – please don’t let money be an issue for not coming along. The booking link is here: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/cbc-mens-weekend-away-tickets-375214987127. For more information please speak to Tom B or Ian H.

Next Sunday 11th September

Following our series of combined services at Priory Street in August, next Sunday 11th we will revert to our usual three congregations at 9.15, 10am (COTG) and 11.15. For those who attend the 9.15 service next week please note that there will be a short meeting afterwards to talk about the service going forward. Please pray about how you could be involved in serving at that service.

Gathered to Praise

A heads up to let you know that the next Praise evening will be held at Priory Street at 6pm on 11th September.
