Prayer for gospel expansion – Saturday mornings

As we seek the Lord’s will regarding the proposal to join COTG and the 9.15 service into a new congregation, it’s important to join together to pray as one body. We will have the opportunity to do that on Saturday mornings from 8-9am at Priory Street. Please do join us if you can.

The Ark – tomorrow at 10.30am

We would love to see you at The Ark tomorrow, a fun and interactive service for primary school-aged children, which will be held at Priory Street from 10.30am-12pm. Join us for songs, crafts, Bible stories and puppets! Your free place can be booked via Eventbrite here and you can keep up-to-date via the Facebook page here.

Hall Refurbishment – Helpers Required

A reminder that the new flooring will be laid in the coffee hall next week.  Helpers are required on Sunday 26th from 2pm to clear the hall and offices. Help is also needed to put everything back after the new floor is down on Saturday 1st April from 2pm.

If you are able to help with this please speak to Jonny Street or John Godwin.

Souper Friday café closed next week

FLAGS – cancelled next week

Rhiannon would like to let you know that there will be no FLAGS next Wednesday, 29th March. It will resume after Easter on 19th April.

Youth & Children’s Intern

As a church we find ourselves in the privileged position of welcoming many children and young people through our doors each week, and have plenty of opportunities to interact with more in our community and schools too. As a result, we would love to explore the possibility of hosting an intern while they undertake training for a youth and children’s qualification.

The benefit would be multi-fold, including providing space for an intern to grow and develop their budding skills – we are not short of children’s and youth opportunities they could assist with! This would also benefit us by providing another worker for the growing task (up to 32 hours a week) with fresh ideas and unique gifting.

To that end, though we will undoubtedly explain more and bring the proposal to the next church meeting for discussion (expected costs for the intern to be low, c£1200 for the year), we wanted to give you an early heads up, so you can pray about it.

In addition, as part of the internship, we would be required to provide accommodation for them. Therefore, it would be useful to ascertain the feasibility of this from the outset before a firm proposal is brought. We would love to provide this rent free!  If you have a room that you may be willing to use to host an intern, or if you are interested but would like to know more of what it would involve, please speak to Dan to discuss further.

We would ideally be looking at Sept 23 – Aug 24.

Hope Explored

We will be running another Hope Explored course on the Sunday evenings of 23rd & 30th April and 7th May. Please prayerfully consider who you might invite to come along to discover the hope we can have in Jesus. You can register for the course via Eventbrite – click here or scan the QR code.

Marriage Course

What is it? An opportunity to invest in your relationship with your spouse(/to-be) from a gospel perspective. Using Tim Chester’s Gospel-Centred Marriage as the foundation, this course encourages couples to build their marriages, rooting our responses in every situation in God’s word and the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Who’s it for?  Married couples of all ages and stages, and couples preparing for marriage.
When is it?  Five Saturday afternoons: 2.30 – 4pm: 15th April, 20th May, 27th May, 3rd June, 10th June
Where is it?  Priory Street.
Please register to attend via Eventbrite – click here or scan the QR code.

Sound system changes

In April we will be making some modifications to the sound system as an experiment to improve our sound quality. Among the changes you may notice the removal 2 of the 4 on-stage speakers, to be replaced with in-ear monitors and the temporary placement of 2 largish black speakers as front of house speakers.
