Prayer walk tomorrow morning around Corsham (Sat 11th)

Please join us tomorrow morning for a prayer walk around Corsham. We’ll set off from Priory Street at 8.30am and hope you can join us.

Mission Focus Together – this Sunday at 6pm

This Sunday is International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church. Our evening service will focus on the ministry of Open Doors, which supports persecuted Christians around the world. We will watch a video from Open Doors and have opportunities to pray for several countries where Christians suffer hugely for their faith. Please do join us (if you finding praying out loud a bit daunting, don’t worry, you won’t be asked to).

CBC team trip to AIM Kenya conference

Our team will be heading to Nairobi on Wednesday 15th November. They will be providing teaching for primary school-aged children and teenagers, and many other activities for the children to enable the adults to benefit from a time of teaching, refreshment and rest. The team returns on Wednesday 22nd November. Please pray for the team before, during and after the trip.

Can you help? The team is looking for someone to drive the minibus to take them to and collect them from the airport. They need to be at Heathrow T4 at 6.30am on 15th Nov in time for their flight at 8.30am. The team returns at 6.25am on 22nd November. Please speak to Dan, Rhiannon or Ruth in the office if you can help.

This trip was an unexpected, later invitation, so the team hasn’t had a chance to organise a fundraiser to raise support. Keep your eyes peeled for something happening in the new year that will provide an opportunity to support the trip financially. In the meantime, please pray for them and mark the 10th December in your diaries when the team will feed back to the church.

FLAGS

Please note there will be no FLAGS for two weeks while Rhiannon is in Kenya. FLAGS will return on 29th November at 4.30pm.

Monthly mission update

This month’s update on our mission partners is available to download here or to pick up from the table at church.

Light Party – thank you!

A huge thank you to everyone who supported the Light Party last week. We had a lot of fun in a chaotic way!! We were hugely blessed with over 60 children (including our fantastic youth helpers) and many parents too. It was a great witness, showing that Jesus is the Light of the world.

Anne Hankin – thanksgiving celebration

We send our love and condolences to Mitch and the family as they mourn the loss of Anne, who went to be with the Lord last Saturday. A service to give thanks for her life will be held at Priory Street on Tuesday 5th December at 2pm and all who knew Anne are warmly invited to join us.

Bring a friend Sundays

Every Sunday is a great opportunity to invite friends, family, neighbours and colleagues. But with Christmas on the horizon, it presents us with a unique seasonal opportunity where people may be more amenable. We want to encourage and urge you to pray and be active in inviting others to our Christmas services.

And it’s not just the typical Carol or Christmas Day service that are friend-friendly. On 26th November we have baptism services in both Sunday congregations, and right through Advent we hope to have accessible services that will enable anyone and everyone to hear the good news of Jesus ‘the greatest gift’ and the difference He can make to our lives! So please join with us in praying, inviting and trusting God this Christmas, as we seek to reach those near and dear to us.

For more information please speak to Katharine Mortimer.

All three shows are SOLD OUT! But you can join the cast of actors who will make the true story of the nativity come to life before our very eyes! You’ll be provided with the script beforehand so you can prepare but the only rehearsal is at 10am on the day, on location! Cast will practice together, have lunch and be ready for ‘ACTION’ at 2.30pm. Speak to Hollie, John P or Adam about roles that are still available and sign up! If acting isn’t your thing how about being a steward, a baker or a hot choc server? This is a whole-church event!
