Raising Confident Kids in a Confusing World – Tues 21st May at Emmanuel Church, Chippenham

Just a reminder that this event is coming up next week. The evening will inspire parents and carers to remember that they are God’s Plan A for showing their children the Bible’s better answers on topics such as bodies, gender, sexuality and their sense of self. The event is being organised by Faith in Kids, and it’s perfect for parents at every stage of family life, as well as for grandparents, leaders and anyone else who wants to be part of the wonderful challenge of raising children to lead flourishing lives for Christ. The evening will run from 7.45pm-8.30pm. You can register to attend here.

Midweek service: Weds 22nd May

There will be a warm welcome for you at the midweek service next Wednesday at 2pm. David M will bring the Word from Eph 5: 8-20 and there will be refreshments afterwards.

Neston Youth Hub

Please continue to pray for this new initiative in partnership with St Philip & St James parish church in Neston. If you have children in the Neston area or know of kids in the area (aged between 9-13), please do invite them and help us spread the word about this new youth group. Flyers available at the back of church for you to take. The next session is on Thursday 23rd May, 7-8.30pm in Neston parish church.

The Ark: Sat 25th May

All children are invited to this fun service from 10.30am-12pm, which will include Bible stories, games, crafts, singing and puppets! Keep an eye on the Ark Facebook page here for more info, and we look forward to seeing you there!

Men’s Ministry: Tuesday 28th May at 7.30pm

Please join us on 28th May for our next men’s evening. Our guest speaker, Barry Funnell, will be sharing how God used a student prank gone badly wrong to radically change the course of his life, and how being wheelchair-bound doesn’t stop him from travelling the world with Bible translation ministry The Word For the World.

Rudloe Community Centre – pledge form

Following the church meeting on 29th April and the need for further income to assess the viability of the Rudloe project, we are asking people to prayerfully consider increasing their giving or contributing time. The additional funds required equate to every member increasing their giving by £15-£20 per month. However, we recognise that for some this is not feasible, whilst others may be able to give more.

If you are able to pledge additional monthly giving to the Church to help support the Rudloe project, or are able to contribute time, please complete the google form here (hard copies are available at church). Thank you in advance for your prayerful consideration. Note: this form is confidential and only seen by the treasurer.

Please pray for….

…Miriam Ovens and Harriet Taylor as they serve on team at the Big Church Festival next weekend. They go on Friday 24th for set-up and training. They will then be stewarding at the festival on 25th & 26th May. Please pray for the practical details of travel, setting up, and connecting with Josie, a fellow teenager they are serving with, whom they have not yet met face to face. Pray that God would build up their faith as they serve and use them to assist other campers.

Save the date – Men’s weekend

Our next exciting Men’s Ministry weekend away will be located in Crickhowell, in the Brecon Beacons, from Fri 20th – Sun 23rd Sept. More details to follow soon…
