Church meeting – Monday 29th April
All who regularly attend a CBC congregation are invited to join us on Monday 29th April, 8pm at Priory Street for our church meeting (incorporating the Annual Church Meeting). At the meeting we will be affirming ministry leaders in their roles, hearing an update on the Rudloe Community Centre and voting on a proposal, so do make every effort to attend in person. Agendas and supporting documents will be available to collect at the morning services on Sunday, otherwise you can read them here.
We’ll also be voting on the nominations for the roles of Treasurer and Church Secretary (both Trustee roles). Nomination forms are available now – please prayerfully consider who you might nominate for these positions (you will need to seek their consent to be nominated) and submit your nomination via the church office before Sunday 28th April. Please note that only full church members can make a nomination and only full church members can be nominated.
Apologies for absence can be sent in advance to susanw@corshambaptists.org. A link will be available for those who, for accessibility reasons, are unable to attend in person – please contact the church office.
Baptism preparation course
We are hoping to run a short course beginning in the next few weeks, on a Sunday afternoon at Priory Street. If you are interested in finding out more about baptism and what it means and would like to come along to the sessions, please contact Adam (adamj@corshambaptists.org) for more details.
Volunteer required – Designated Person for Safeguarding
We are still looking for a volunteer, ideally with the relevant experience, to work in the Safeguarding Team as DPS – click here to read the role description. Please get in touch with Elspeth Pitman on elspethp@corshambaptists.org for further details or to express an interest.
Volunteer required – Health & Safety Ministry Leader
Matt Wingrave has been leading this ministry very ably over the last 18 months, for which we are very grateful, but he is stepping down this month. If you would be interested in taking on this role, please speak to Jonny Street or any of the trustees. Click here to read the role description.
Teaching in Mission webinar: 8th June, 10-11am
Africa Inland Mission (AIM) will be holding a (free) webinar on what it’s like to use your teaching skills on the mission field, and the opportunities that are available. 20% of parents have to leave the mission field due to the educational needs of their children and over 50% of AIM missionaries have children. You could help these young people grow in their education and faith, and, through supporting their parents in this way, you will play a crucial part in enabling the good news to reach peoples that have never heard it before. Why not join this online event to find out more about the many different primary and secondary teaching opportunities across Africa? Click here for more information.
Vacancies at Emmaus Christian School
There are a couple of opportunities to join the staff team at Emmaus School – one as a KS1 teacher and the other as Clerk to the Governors. For more information click here. Additionally, families are invited to an Open Day at the school on Friday 10th May – see the notice here.
Safeguarding at CBC
Should you have any safeguarding concerns, no matter how small, please contact the safeguarding team at safeguarding@corshambaptists.org – you can find the full safeguarding policy here.
