Sunday Services

9.45am service at Neston

The service will begin at the earlier time of 9:45am due to the Corsham 10K taking place with the route passing right by the Memorial Hall. You’re advised to come early as parking may be at a premium. Adam will bring the Word from Luke 6:1-11, music will be led by Ian & Anne, and intercessory prayers by Jo S. Click here to join on Zoom. Meeting ID 838 7666 9360 Passcode 563996. The service will be shorter than usual, with the aim of using the opportunity to meet and engage with the local community gathering for the 10K, and serving them refreshments.

10.30am service at Priory St

Eddie L will bring the Word from John 21-1-14. Music will be led by Matt E and intercessory prayers by Paul K. The service will be streamed online – click here to join.

Be prepared for more traffic in town due to the Corsham 10K with a greater demand for parking spaces.

6pm Praise & Worship Together

This is an all-church service, an opportunity to praise God together as one Body. Josh H will be leading worship and Ben W will be giving a testimony. All are warmly welcome!

Our morning service at Priory Street is live-streamed / recorded on our YouTube channel. If you would prefer not to appear on screen, please sit in or under the balcony.

Prayer walk – tomorrow morning

Please join us on a prayer walk for Rudloe tomorrow morning. We’ll set off from Broadwood School car park at 8.30am.

Loft clear-out pt.2 – tomorrow morning

The Facilitation Team is still working on clearing out the loft(s) at Priory Street. If you can spare a couple of hours from 9am tomorrow to help move and sort stuff, please come along then. You will be rewarded with bacon, sausages and doughnuts!

Midweek service – Weds 24th

We look forward to seeing you at our fortnightly midweek service, 2pm at Priory Street. Rob P will be bringing the Word from Eph 4: 17-5:2 and we’ll enjoy a cuppa and yummy cakes together after the service.

Neston YOUTH HUB!

In partnership with St Philip & St James parish church, we’ll be launching this new youth initiative on Thursday 25th April and fortnightly thereafter. It will run from 7.00-8.30pm in the parish church. If you have, or know of, children in the Neston area (aged 9-13) then please invite them and help us spread the word! And please pray for the youth team as they seek to build bridges and reach young people with the Good News of Jesus.

Church meeting – 29th April

All who regularly attend a CBC congregation are invited to join us on Monday 29th April, 8pm at Priory Street for our next church meeting (incorporating the Annual Church Meeting). At that meeting we will be affirming ministry leaders in their roles, hearing an update on the Rudloe Community Centre and voting on a proposal, so do make every effort to attend in person.

We’ll also be voting on the nominations for the roles of Treasurer and Church Secretary (both Trustee roles). Nomination forms are available now – please prayerfully consider who you might nominate for these positions (you will need to seek their consent to be nominated) and submit your nomination via the church office before Sunday 28th April. Please note that only full church members can make a nomination and only full church members can be nominated.

Apologies for absence can be sent in advance to susanw@corshambaptists.org. A link will be available for those who, for accessibility reasons, are unable to attend in person – please contact the church office.

Men’s Ministry

Brothers, please join us next Tuesday, 23rd April, 7.30pm at Priory Street for our monthly men’s evening when we will be hearing from Eddie Larkman. He will be sharing on, among other things, the subject of suffering, loss and bereavement.

Please also note 28th May in your diaries when our guest speaker Barry Funnell will be sharing with us how God used a student prank gone badly wrong to radically change the course of his life, and how being wheelchair-bound doesn’t stop him from travelling the world with Bible translation ministry The Word For the World.

The Ark – Saturday 27th April

All children are invited to this fun service from 10.30am-12pm, which will include Bible stories, games, crafts, singing and puppets! Keep an eye on the Ark Facebook page here for more info, and we look forward to seeing you there!

Booking rooms at church

The Priory Street building is a wonderful resource for our ministries to use for regular and ad hoc activities. If you need to use a room for ad hoc meetings and activities, these must be booked in advance through the church office (office@corshambaptists.org). Please note that, for safeguarding reasons, only the Sanctuary will be available on Wednesdays for meetings after 6.30pm due to the Youth group being present. NB Everyone who currently holds a church key fob has had their access updated to include the back door.

Baptism preparation course

We are hoping to run a short course beginning in the next few weeks, on a Sunday afternoon at Priory Street. If you are interested in finding out more about baptism and what it means and would like to come along to the sessions, please contact Adam (adamj@corshambaptists.org) for more details.

Help needed for Trinity Church weekend

Our brothers and sisters at Trinity Church Chippenham are having their church weekend away on 10-12 May in Ledbury. They’ve asked if we can bless them with a team to provide childcare for their toddlers, around 10 of them, and teaching and games for the primary school-aged children, around 40 of them. Rhiannon will lead the teaching but needs some helpers for the primary school-aged group as well as a team of 3 to look after the toddlers. The sessions are on the morning of Saturday 11th May from 9.30am – 12.45pm (including a break). We will need to leave Corsham at around 7.15am. If you have a DBS through CBC and are available to bless our brothers and sisters through helping with childcare, please contact Rhiannon (details in the church directory) or leave a message with Ruth in the office.

Save the date!

Preparations are underway for a week of evangelistic events to engage our local community and to invite your family, friends, work colleagues and neighbours to! Please be aware that this will take place between Mon 10th – Sun 16th June. Please start thinking about who you could invite, and more details will be given out very soon!

Volunteer required – Designated Person for Safeguarding

We are still looking for a volunteer, ideally with the relevant experience, to work in the Safeguarding Team as DPS – click here to read the role description. Please get in touch with Elspeth Pitman on elspethp@corshambaptists.org for further details or to express an interest.
