We’ll start with a short time of worship and communion together, followed by prayer for various aspects of our church life. You don’t have to pray out loud so don’t be shy about coming! The prayer information will be available for you to collect on Sunday morning, or you can download it here, to use over the month.

All are welcome to join us on Zoom next Tuesday, 4th June at 8pm to pray for the needs of our mission partners and the wider persecuted Church. The Zoom link is below:

CBC Community Week – 10-16 June

The plans are in place, the invitations are ready – all we need is YOU to invite your friends and neighbours to one (or more) of our community events! From board games, butchery and BBQs to singing and scones, there is sure to be something for everyone! Check out corshambaptists.org/events for more details so you can prayerfully think about who you’d like to invite. For the tech savvy, WhatsApp invites are available from the office, and head over to the CBC Facebook page to share our posts with your friends & family. At each event our guests will hear a short message about the difference Jesus makes to our lives – please PRAY that the Lord will use these opportunities to speak into people’s lives.
Men’s weekend away – booking now open!
This year’s Men’s Weekend Away will be at the YHA Llangattock Mountain Bunkhouse, Crickhowell. Set in the Brecon Beacons National Park, the accommodation offers doorstep access to ancient woodlands, rare marshland, wildflower meadows, and of course caves, cliffs and excellent mountain walks. The dates are Friday 20th to Sunday 22nd September with an option to stay until Monday morning at no extra cost. The cost is £85 per person (concessions available as required) – the priority is to have you there so please come and have a chat if funding is an issue.
Teaching will be by Mark Fossey, Senior Pastor at Redeemer Church in Croydon. Mark has been involved in church ministry and church planting for over 20 years in central and suburban London. He is a fan of football, jazz and burgers, in no particular order. There will also be plenty of food (chef duties ably supplied by our brother Tim Hogg), walks out, coffee in the local village, worship, and nightly fellowship around the fire-pit.

Junior church
We’re so grateful to all our teachers and helpers who serve in the Junior Church each week. As well as the weekly classes for ages 0-11, Dan Ovens runs a fortnightly group for secondary school-aged children (year 7+) that meets at 16 Arnolds Mead (out the back of the church building) during the morning service at Priory Street. The next dates for this group are 2nd, 16th and 30th June, and 14th July.
Thank you
Joan Long would like to pass on her thanks to all who helped her last Sunday morning, in practical ways and in prayer. She was embarrassed ‘to make a fuss’ but very grateful too.
Can you help?
Ruth is seeking the help of a volunteer or two to assist with the counting of the offerings received at Priory Street. It’s not an onerous task and won’t take long so if you’re able to offer some time every week or fortnight (preferably not on Sundays) please let Ruth know. Thanks.
Oasis Centre, Austria
CBC has supported Oasis for many years in its ministry of providing for refugees in practical and spiritual ways. The team at Oasis is small in number and they have requested prayer for God to send volunteers to translate the Bible message on Wednesday evenings, short-term workers (1-3 months) short-term volunteers and long-term workers. If you, or someone you know, is interested in serving short-term, please speak to Wendy Rowe.
Rudloe Community Centre – pledge form
Following the church meeting on 29th April and the need for further income to assess the viability of the Rudloe project, we are asking people to prayerfully consider increasing their giving or contributing time. The additional funds required equate to every member increasing their giving by £15-£20 per month. However, we recognise that for some this is not feasible, whilst others may be able to give more. If you are able to pledge additional monthly giving to the Church to help support the Rudloe project, or are able to contribute time, please complete the google form here (hard copies are available at church). Thank you in advance for your prayerful consideration. Note: this form is confidential and only seen by the treasurer.
Volunteer required – Designated Person for Safeguarding
Yes, we’re still looking for a volunteer, ideally with the relevant experience, to work in the Safeguarding Team as DPS – click here to read the role description. Please get in touch with Elspeth Pitman on elspethp@corshambaptists.org for further details or to express an interest.
Volunteer required – Health & Safety Ministry Leader
Could you take on this role? Click here to read the role description and if you’re interested in helping in this way, please speak to Jonny Street or any of the trustees.
