There will also be a work party to help get the venue ready as well as a rehearsal at the farm on Saturday 1st December from 10am-12.20. If you weren’t able to be at the meeting on Tuesday but can be involved in any way with the nativity please speak to Rhiannon.

Carols by Candlelight Service – 16th December

Once again this year it would be great to get a band together for the carol service, to give the occasion a certain something extra! So if you play an acoustic instrument and would like to be part of the band, David M would love to hear from you.  If you have not been part of this before, please let David know what you play, and to roughly what standard, together with your contact details if you’re not already in the church directory.  Many thanks. David

The meals can be offered as little as once a month and just requires you to email or sign up on facebook messenger to be part of the CBC food rota. You do not need to be Michelin Star to become a part of this awesome ministry!  Anything you cook for your family is more than good enough for our members! Please contact Sarah Blaikley for more details. Thank you!

Church Directory 2019

Please take the time to complete the information for the new church directory if you are new to this fellowship or if any of your personal details have changed.  There is also a section to complete if you would like specific information on any aspect of church life. You may complete here online or the paper copy which can be left in the white box on the table at the back.  (Blank forms at the back). Remember…please write clearly!!

Keep up with the Littles

The Littles are serving on Africa Mercy (Mercy Ships) and you can follow their adventures by reading their blog at (It also contains useful information if you would like to send them anything!).

Corsham Foodbank – Feeding Back to You

Once again we would like to thank you for your generous and consistent support of the Foodbank project, and also for the bumper offering made at the Harvest Festival last month.  God remains faithful in blessing this ministry both through the churches and the community, and continues to enable us to meet the need. The Christmas Hamper project will be run again this year, and we expect to be blessing in excess of 50 households.  If you would like to support this project by donating edible seasonal treats with a post-Christmas best before date, please leave them in or by the collection bin in the porch at Priory Street by Sunday 2nd December.  Items which would enable us to bless children would be particularly welcome.

Opportunities for Regular Giving

If you would like to give to the work of the church on a regular basis, you might wish to consider setting up a standing order through your bank.  Alternatively, some people find it helpful to use our weekly or monthly envelope giving schemes for their offering. And of course, if you are a UK tax payer, then the value of your gift can be increased by 25%, at no extra cost to yourself, if you complete a Gift Aid Declaration.

If you would like to enrol in the envelope giving scheme for 2019, or would like to set up a standing order or make a Gift Aid Declaration, do please speak to one of the Treasury Team: Paul G (Church on the Green, Rudloe) Roger (Priory Street 11.15 Service); or Michael (Priory Street 9.15 Service).

…This week…

Week of prayer 2018 – Tuesday

Week of prayer 2018

Welcome to our Week of Prayer!

To help you get started, we have some prayer stations set up in the church and I have prepared some prayer points some of which are requests from those involved in the ministries and some of which are suggestions. This is not an exhaustive list, so please don’t be constrained by it but pray as the Spirit leads you. You may like to begin by reading a psalm of praise and praising God for all He is and has done for us in Christ. (Some suggestions – Psalm 8, 96, 103, 145, 146.)

Our vision is to be a “gospel-centred church”, aiming to make disciples, reach out to the local community with the love and truth of God and to play our part in taking the gospel to the “ends of the earth”. (Acts 1:8) With this in mind, let’s lift the ministries of our church to God in prayer!

I’ve split the notes up so there will be a daily update but if you want to get them all now click here.

  • Praise God for His continued blessing on this ministry

  • Pray for Renton who has faithfully shared his testimony and encouraged the men in their walk with God

  • Men in our fellowship that God would increase in them the desire to know Him and to love Him more each day

  • Those who lead alongside Ian H – Paul K,Tom B, Mike P and Tim H – for God’s guidance in seeking someone in his early twenties to join them

  • Those involved in leading Christianity Explored, Discipleship Explored, preaching and leading services

  • Prison guards and prisoners

  • Thank God for His blessing on this ministry

  • Thank God for an amazing weekend retreat last April

  • Pray for the women in our fellowship that God would increase in them the desire to know Him and to love Him more each day

  • That God would help them to keep on “one anothering” and to continue to live out God’s grace in their lives

  • Pray for the preparations for this year’s Bible study on Titus

  • Particularly for those who will be involved in leading and teaching – Sharon, Kathy L, Anne H, Vicky S, Victoria K, Christine, Esther K, Hannah S and Jill H

  • Pray for those who prepare and serve refreshments, contribute to the blog etc.

  • Pray for the preparations for the Ladies’ Day in June

Grace Place – A Blog for CBC Women and Beyond…

Corsham Baptist Church’s women’s ministry has recently launched a new website named Grace PlaceBelow is an excerpt from their site describing the purpose of the site.

Links to the most recent few posts are also available on our home page.

Grace Place’, a blog created for the women of CBC (Corsham Baptist Church) communities and beyond. Our passion is to help women to authentically grow and mature in their journey with God in Christ. The gospel of Jesus Christ is the one true foundation with which can transform our ordinary, everyday, messy lives!

The gospel is founded on God’s amazing love and grace which then extends to us for friendship with one another.  Thus the name ‘Grace Place’ is born. We come in all shapes and sizes, ages, and life’s experiences. We are here because we are created to do life together! Women need other women. So no matter where you are on your journey, you are not on your own. We hope that Grace Place will be a place where you can be lovingly transparent with the not-so-great stuff mixed in with the gracious goodness of God.

In addition, this blog is a link to connect with you and to bring continuity to our existing monthly studies.   We are here to share laughter and tears, sorrows and joys, heartaches and victories.  We hope you will be inspired, challenged, encouraged, feel accepted, and loved.  Our aim is to be biblically faithful, pastorally sensitive, and culturally relevant.  We want you to feel at home; as family should. There will be a weekly addition so feel free to ask questions and make relevant comments along the way.

So if you love Jesus even just a little but long to love Him more, plug in! Grab a cuppa and see what the Lord gets up to as we walk together!
