Christmas services at CBC

Christmas Eve: join us at Priory Street at 6pm for a short time of reflection. We will share communion together – please bring your own bread and something (non-alcoholic) to represent the blood of Christ as we will not be serving from the front in order to reduce the risk of COVID transmission.
Christmas Day: join us at 10am at Priory Street and at COTG for a family-friendly time of celebration. Children are invited to bring and share a present at the front of Church during the service. Rob P will be speaking at Priory Street and worship will be lead by Nancy. Rob D will be speaking at COTG and worship will be lead by Adrian and Jo P.
Sunday 26th: Boxing Day: all our congregations will meet together at Priory Street at 11am. Worship will be lead by Matt E and Rob D will bring the Word from 1 Thessalonians 4:11-5:13.
COVID-19 – updated guidelines
The STRIPE team has issued updated guidelines following the government’s recent announcements regarding Covid-19 restrictions. Read the guidelines here. The Christmas services will go ahead as planned with no booking required. If we become overcrowded, some regular members may be asked to use the hall for the service with the doors to the main Church left open. There will be duty marshals to supervise and manage this as needed.
Leadership Elections
Our next church members’ meeting will be held on Monday 17th January and at that meeting we will be voting on 6 leadership roles – 2 elders and 4 deacons. Our current elders Alan Christie and Adrian Pillinger are willing to stand for re-election. The deacon roles are that of Treasurer, Fabric deacon, Safeguarding deacon and Facilitation deacon. Nominations will close after the morning service on Sunday 9th January. Nomination forms are available at the back of the church. To guide your thoughts you may wish to read Rob D’s notes of a sermon he preached recently about choosing leaders.
