Church on the Green
There is no service at COTG this Sunday. Please join us at one of the Priory Street services as our Assoc Pastor candidate, Adam Jacques, preaches ‘with a view’.

Craft Group – tomorrow at 10am
If you enjoy crafts, do join us tomorrow morning at Priory Street from 10am-12.30pm. You will find a friendly bunch of ladies (open to men too!) and we would love to meet you. Please bring your own craft project to work on.
Associate Pastor candidate Q&As
The Trustees are excited to have invited Adam Jacques back to preach with a view this Sunday. We have planned the following opportunities to get to know Adam:
Q & A sessions (open to everyone) – Saturday 3rd December, 2pm and 4pm
There are still places available at these Q&A sessions. Registration via Eventbrite is preferred but not mandatory. Please register using the following links:
2pm: Register here
4pm: Register here
Preach with a view at the Priory Street services
We encourage members of the Church on the Green and Midweek services to join with one of the Sunday congregations at Priory Street to hear Adam preach.
Special Church Members’ meeting, Tuesday 6th December, 8pm
In this meeting we will seek to discern whether we feel God is calling Adam to be Associate Pastor at CBC. The meeting is open to all who attend any of CBC’s congregations.
Please put these dates in your diary, and keep praying that we, together with Adam and his family, would clearly discern God’s will.
Gathered to Pray – Sunday at 6pm
This month’s Gathered to Pray service on Sunday evening will have a special focus on the Bible Society, a ministry that has been making the Bible available to all for over 200 years. Sue Wingrave will bring us recent news and videos showing how the Bible Society is helping people engage with God’s word, which in turn will inspire us to pray for the Society’s current needs.
Midweek service – Wednesday 7th Dec
You are warmly invited to join us at 2pm for our regular midweek service. Rob P will be bringing us God’s word, and refreshments will be served afterwards.
Prayer for missions and the persecuted church
As the Special Church meeting will be held next Tuesday, the mission prayer meeting will be moved to another evening. Please speak to Wendy R for further details.
Born in a Barn – a Farmyard Nativity
Are you serving at this big church evangelistic outreach event? No?! Don’t despair, there’s time to sign up and there’s plenty to do!
Farm preparation – we need to help John get the farm ready so there will be a work party tomorrow Saturday 3rd December at 9.30am (leaving plenty of time to get back to Priory street for the Q&A sessions). Men, women and families are actively encouraged to help.
Saturday 10th December stewards, bakers and servers are all needed. The tickets sold out a few weeks ago, 300 people are coming but we need YOU! We can’t run this event safely or effectively if we don’t have people to point the way, chat, serve drinks etc
Speak to John Prior, Rhiannon Price or Hollie Gale if you need pointing in the right direction with areas to serve.
Actors: please be at the farm at 10am to have a rehearsal. Bring your lunch and wrap up warm.
It will be a long day but it’s a small price to pay in order to share Jesus with lots of people. If you are available for only part of the day then there is still an opportunity to serve.
Feedback from Kenya mission trip
The team that went to Kenya arrived home safely on Thursday evening after a truly brilliant week serving the missionaries at the AIM Eastern Region conference. Thank you for your prayers – they were answered abundantly. Please come to church at 6pm on Sunday 11th December to hear the team report back on the trip and all that they experienced, saw and heard. Find out what Rhiannon and Carol’s new nicknames are, and who had a close encounter with a giraffe!
Open Air Carol Service – Tuesday 20th December
Corsham churches warmly invite you to attend the town carol service from 6.45pm on 20th December. We will start on the High Street outside Haine & Smith and proceed down to the Corsham Court car park. Wrap up warmly and join us to celebrate the birth of Jesus through songs and readings. Leaflets with details and a list of the Christmas services at local churches are available on the table at Priory Street.
And finally…
Martin S and Ben R will be making a big mess in the coffee hall next Tuesday as they continue with the cabling work for the tech system. They’ve promised to tidy up after themselves, but just be aware of that if you’re at church on Tuesday & Wednesday morning.
