Community Week, Invitation Sunday & BBQ!

We are praising God for an amazing Community Week! Every event has been really well attended, there have been lots of opportunities and conversations pointing people to Jesus and building relationships. Continue to pray for the work of the Holy Spirit in each heart. Thank you to everyone who organised, led and supported each event and did so much behind the scenes – we couldn’t have done it without you! Pray that the Souper Friday Big Breakfast tomorrow will be another opportunity for sharing the love of Jesus. And then there’s Invitation Sunday – all are welcome to the services at Neston or Priory Street this Sunday and to the BBQ that follows. There’s no charge – just bring yourself and a friend! (If you can help serve and clear away at the Priory St BBQ, please let Colin know.)

Midweek service – Weds 19th June

We look forward to seeing you at our midweek service, 2pm at Priory Street. David M will be bringing the Word from Ephesians 6: 10-24 and we’ll enjoy a cuppa and yummy cakes together after the service.

Date of next church meeting / Elder nominations

Please note 15th July in your diary as the date of the next church meeting. The meeting will include an update on the Rudloe Community Centre, and we’ll be voting on the election of two Elders. John Prior and Rob Perks have been faithfully serving as Elders and their terms come to an end in July. Both have indicated that they are willing to stand for re-election if nominated. If you are a full member and would like to nominate someone as an Elder, please complete a nomination form (available at church). You will need to get your nominee’s permission and find someone to second your nomination. Please hand your form in to the church office by Sunday 30th June.

Hope Explored

Hope Explored is a short course that shows that Christianity is about real hope: a joyful expectation for the future, based on true events in the past, which changes everything about my present. Hope Explored is one of the easiest ways to introduce someone to Christianity. Adam will be running the course across three Fridays starting on 28th June, from 10.30am-12pm in the Hut. Please prayerfully consider who you might invite – watch out for the flyers at church for you to give out. Places on the course can be reserved via Eventbrite here: cbchopeexplored.eventbrite.co.uk or via the QR code opposite.

Meal Train Coordinator needed

We’re seeking a Coordinator for our Meal Train Ministry, which blesses our church family with meals during times of joy or challenge. Meals are provided by a rota of volunteers and are set up (with the help of a very useful online app) by the coordinator. Meal Train coordination is straightforward and there is a clear process in place. On average, we deliver a meal train every other month and coordination takes 1-2 hours per meal train. So this is a great ministry for someone interested in getting more involved in church life and getting to know church members, but who doesn’t have loads of time to offer. For more information please contact Lucy Lewis on 07446 953259.

Webnet Women’s Conference – Sat 19th October

Webnet is organising its first Women’s Conference – ‘Abide’ – to be held at Westbury-on-Trym Baptist Church, BS9 3TE. Teaching will be by Lindsay Caplen, one of the Webnet regional team, with worship being led by April Ballard. The conference will also include a panel of inspiring women in leadership sharing with conference delegates in the afternoon. There will be space for reflection, prayer and time to just encounter Jesus throughout the day. The cost is £12 person, including lunch and all refreshments. To find out more and to book click here.
