Prayer walk around Corsham – Saturday morning

Please join us on a prayer walk for Corsham tomorrow morning. We’ll set off from Priory Street at 8.30am.

The Ark – tomorrow Sat 29th June

All children are invited to this fun service from 10.30am-12pm, which will include Bible stories, games, crafts, singing and puppets! This is the last Ark before the summer break so keep an eye on the Ark Facebook page here for updates and we hope to see you again in September!

Baptisms on Sunday morning

We’re looking forward to celebrating and giving thanks to God for Ami, Tom and Mark as they are baptised at the Priory Street service this Sunday. Please be in prayer for them as they prepare to testify to their faith in God.

Prayer for mission & the persecuted Church

Everyone is welcome to join us on Zoom next Tuesday, 2nd July, for a short time of praying for our mission partners and persecuted Christians around the world. The Zoom details are:
Zoom link – click here. Meeting ID: 961 0065 2312 Passcode: 282492

Midweek service: Weds 3rd July

There will be a warm welcome for you at the midweek service next week. David M will bring the Word from Luke 14: 15-24 and we’ll enjoy refreshments together afterwards.

Date of next church meeting / Elder elections

Please note 15th July in your diary as the date of the next church meeting. The meeting will include the election of two Elders. John Prior and Rob Perks have been faithfully serving as Elders and their terms come to an end in July. Both have indicated that they are willing to stand for re-election if nominated. If you are a full member and would like to nominate someone as an Elder, please complete a nomination form (available at church). You will need to get your nominee’s permission and find someone to second your nomination. Please hand your form in to the church office by this Sunday.

Hope Explored

There’s still an opportunity to join Hope Explored – a short course showing that Christianity is about real hope. The course will continue on the next two Friday mornings, from 10.30am-12pm in the Hut. Places on the course can be reserved via Eventbrite here: cbchopeexplored.eventbrite.co.uk or via the QR code opposite, or by speaking to Adam J.

Church office closed 04-12 July

Please note that the church office will be closed from 4th-12th July as Ruth takes annual leave.

Lost property

We seem to have gained a little collection of Bibles and notebooks that have been left behind after various events recently. If you’re missing one, please check the table in the foyer at Priory Street.

Household waste bin

CBC has recently received a new household waste bin at Priory Street because the old one was broken (lid hinges bust). Before it goes to landfill, if anyone can find a use for it at home please let Ruth know. Wiltshire Council advises that it can’t be used as an additional household waste bin, but the creative among you could probably turn it into a water butt or a worm farm or storage for fishing rods…the possibilities are endless! 🙂

Men’s Weekend Away – 20th-22nd September

There’s still space for you on the Weekend Away if you haven’t yet booked. We’ll be staying at the YHA Llangattock Mountain Bunkhouse, Crickhowell, in the Brecon Beacons National Park. The dates are Friday 20th-Sunday 22nd September with an option to stay until Monday morning at no extra cost. The cost is £85 per person (concessions available as required) – the priority is to have you there so please talk to Ian Holmes or Dave Eckley if funding is an issue.

Teaching will be by Mark Fossey, Senior Pastor at Redeemer Church in Croydon. Mark has been involved in church ministry for over 20 years in central and suburban London. There will be plenty of food (chef duties ably supplied by our brother Tim Hogg), walks out, coffee in the local village, worship, and nightly fellowship around the firepit.

To reserve your space please complete the google form here. Payment can be made via bank transfer – details below.
