Our morning service at Priory Street is live-streamed / recorded on our YouTube channel. If you would prefer not to appear on screen, please sit in or under the balcony.

Crèche at Priory Street Sunday morning service

Please note that there will not be a manned crèche this Sunday morning at Priory Street as there aren’t enough helpers due to the usual volunteers being away. If anyone is willing to help out on the rota for future weeks, please speak to Lucy Elson. Even one extra person would be a great help.

Good Friday service

You are warmly invited to join us at 9.30am at Priory Street for a short service of reflection and sharing communion together as we remember Christ’s sacrifice for us on the cross.

Walk of Witness – Good Friday

After our service on Friday, we have the opportunity to join the annual Walk of Witness through the town centre. We will set off from the garden outside Co-op at 10.30am. Refreshments and hot cross buns will be served at St Aldhelm’s afterwards.

Prayer walk – Saturday 30th

Please join us on Saturday morning for a prayer walk around Rudloe. We’ll set off from Broadwood School car park at 8.30am.

Prayer for missions and the persecuted church

We encourage all with a heart for mission to join our monthly mission prayer meeting next Tuesday, 2nd April. We meet on Zoom at 8pm for an hour (link below). We usually begin by watching a couple of videos from Open Doors, followed by praying for the needs of CBC’s mission partners at home and abroad. This is an excellent way to hear first-hand from some of our mission partners. Click here to join on Zoom. Meeting ID 961 0065 2312 Passcode 282492

Volunteer required – Designated Person for Safeguarding

We are very grateful to Kate Harding for being the Designated Person for Safeguarding (DPS) at CBC and prior to this Deputy DPS. However, she will be stepping down from this role at the end of April due to her move back to Australia. This leaves a vacancy in the Safeguarding Team at CBC. We are therefore looking for a volunteer, ideally with the relevant experience, to work in the Safeguarding Team as DPS – click here to read the role description. Please get in touch with Elspeth Pitman on elspethp@corshambaptists.org for further details or to express an interest.

Volunteer required – Health & Safety Ministry Leader

Matt Wingrave has been leading this ministry very ably over the last 18 months, for which we are very grateful, but he is stepping down next month. If you would be interested in taking on this role, please speak to Jonny Street or any of the trustees. Click here to read the role description.

Cardboard recycling

The Souper Friday team does an amazing job collecting surplus food from local supermarkets to give out at the Cafe each week. However, it means there are always more cardboard boxes to be recycled than can fit into our recycling bins. On top of that, the collection lorry isn’t obliged to take cardboard which is wet – a bit of an issue recently! Finding a solution isn’t easy but if anyone can take one box home to put into their own recycling bin, it would be a great help. So, when you’re next at church, pop round to the back of the building and pick up a box! Many thanks!

Spring Clean – loft clear out!

On Saturday 6th April from 9am, the Facilitation Team is planning a clear and sort out of the loft above the “overflow hall”. There are a number of items that need organising or to be permanently removed! We would like to enlist some volunteers for an hour or two to move the various items out of the loft and help sort/organise/ditch. If you can help please let Hollie Gale or Jonny Street know. There are rumours that some breakfast-y treats may be available!

Also, if you think you have any items in the loft that you need (or don’t) it would be really helpful if you could come along that morning to help – or if not available please have a chat with Hollie or Jonny in advance. Many thanks.

Souper Friday Electronic Marketplace

At Souper Friday we often come across families who are struggling, not only with buying their everyday essentials but also with affording household furniture, furnishings and appliances. In response to the need, we are launching our Electronic Marketplace!

If you have any household items that you would like to donate to a deserving family then please let us know and we will advertise them each Friday on our electronic notice board. All we ask is that you provide us with a photo of the item that we can upload onto the notice board. Due to a lack of storage space we are unable to hold any items at church. Please speak to Colin or Brenda for more information. If you find another home for your item in the meantime, no problem – just let us know so we can remove it from the notice board.
